“Let me see your ID” and then “We don’t need to see your ID now” after he handcuffs him. I’m confused. So why arrest him if he offers to show the ID afterwards? And basically what was the reason for arresting the guy? Zero probable cause. Did the officer not get the memo that you can’t arrest someone for filming according to the Federal Courts?

The right to refuse to identify yourself because it violates the 4th amendment unless being suspected or have probable cause of committing a crime.
Videotaping is NOT probable cause.
Yep NC, I thought I saw that article the other day about it being ok to film the cops. Also – why do the cops have a problem always wanting to know who and where we all live but they have a problem we us all knowing where they live. They must be the ones with something to hide eh!!
This is another one close to home. Hawthorne is just a couple miles north of me. After the Sheriffs and Torrance cops, Hawthorne are the next worst bunch around.
