It sounds like a tale from a science fiction novel, but a team of Japanese engineers really is hoping to turn the moon into a giant solar panel.

Shimizu, a giant civil engineering and construction firm, plans to install a ‘solar belt’ around the moon’s equator.

To be built almost entirely by remote-controlled robots, the Luna Ring would run around the 6,800 mile lunar equator and be 248 miles in width.

Northern Texas towns are experiencing an intense string of earthquakes – the last of which was one of the most powerful in 5 years. As unusual tremors have been going on for over 3 weeks now, many suspect fracking might be to blame.

On Thursday, the region experienced two tremors, with one of them registering 3.6 magnitude, 55 km west of the town of Azle at 07:58:36 GMT, as recorded by the US Geological Service, and the other 2.8 at 08:41:07 GMT, with the epicenter not far from the first one. USGS records show that the 3.6 tremor was one of the strongest earthquakes to hit the region in 5 years.   Continue reading “Fracking to blame? Texas rocked by 16 earthquakes in last 3 weeks”

A couple of days ago local news channel WBRI ran a news report entitled “Survivalists deem TN Plateau prime prepper property.” It was all about the area and how preppers are buying property and flocking to the Plateau, for safety and support in the event of a collapse of the current system.

Sadly, me or TheSurvivalistBlog.net was not mentioned in the news report, despite the fact that I am the main public proponent of the TN Plateau area for preppers living in the east and the reason for the growing interest in the area among preppers.   Continue reading “WBIR local news TV report – Survivalists deem TN Plateau prime prepper property”

Washington Report – by Neve Gordon, October 1996

Congress received him with great fanfare. President Clinton, who during the recent election campaign had backed his rival, Shimon Peres, appears to have had a change of heart. Yet who is Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and why did the political elite in the U.S. accept him with such warmth? A few important facts about Netanyahu and his objectives—which the U.S. media have obstinately neglected to reporthelp to clarify the enigma.

Netanyahu has lived both in Israel and the U.S.: first grade in Israel; second and third in the U.S.; fourth through eighth in Jerusalem; high school in suburban Philadelphia; military service in Israel; B.A. and M.A. at MIT. He held dual citizenship, which enabled him to travel freely between both countries, study in the U.S., receive federal loans to cover his education costs at MIT and work legally.
