California governor orders mandatory water restrictions amid drought

Fox News

California Gov. Jerry Brown has ordered state officials to impose mandatory water restrictions for the first time in history as the state grapples with a serious drought.

In an executive order issued Wednesday, Brown ordered the state water board to implement reductions in cities and towns to cut usage by 25 percent.

The move will impact residents, businesses, farmers and other users.

Brown says the historic drought demands unprecedented action.

The order also will require campuses, golf courses, cemeteries and other large landscapes to significantly cut water use and ban watering of grass on public street medians.

Brown made the announcement as state officials conducted the winter’s final manual survey of the snowpack in the Sierra Nevada.

        1. It sure is. I wish you the best of luck on finding those resources. It’s getting more difficult by the day . . . as my daughter is finding out.
          . . .

  1. And yet here where I live No. Ca. every morning like clockwork the water rushes down the gutter in the street from the early morning over watering of their precious green lawns so fast and deep, mind you, that I often ponder when passing by about maybe next time I’ll stop and practice my passion which is fly casting. FISH ON !!!!!!

  2. We’ve had 2 governors named Brown. The father was a HORRIBLE DISASTER, the son was in the 70s a HORRIBLE DISASTER, and now unlawfully the son is a HORRIBLE DISASTER governor yet again defying term limit laws in California. GANGSTER!!!

California is a failed state and a banana republic. Only thing that is going to fix this state now is probably the only thing that will fix this country which is also a “FAILED STATE”. Nuff said.
