Casual touching as a method of control or de-escalation? NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. DO NOT TOUCH ME!!! EVER!!!
IF there are any decent human beings left in sheriffs’ departments or police departments, the first thing you need to realize is that the thugs in blue and khaki with guns and badges have already destroyed your reputation, from parasitizing on the public (who fund the thugs’ wages and departments through taxes) by revenuing on them to get their thug promotions and salary increases, to abusing and murdering people with apparent malice aforethought. Maybe it’s a reputation undeserved for the occasional individual in these departments here and there, but that is the state of affairs.
If you touch me, however casually, I will interpret that as being aggressively accosted and assaulted, and what will be running through my mind is the imagery of thugs in blue and khaki beating, digitally raping, torturing, and murdering the public, whom they are SUPPOSED TO SERVE!!!
From my point of view, the only way to start to turn this nasty mess around is by cleaning up and cleaning out all the sheriffs’ and police departments (if not totally eliminating police departments as police chiefs are unelected and unaccountable to the public). This will have to be done from the top down, otherwise any of the decent ones left on the forces will merely be eliminated in various ways. When the clean up and clean out is done, and the sheriffs’ departments consistently treat the public, their employer, with respect and consideration, then this nasty mess will start turning around.

Also, in my book, repo thugs have the same reputation as thugs in blue and khaki. Why is it Popeye thinks banksters are owed anything for credit that they create out of thin air by pushing the numeric keys on a computer’s keyboard and then have the audacity to tack on usury charges? Sheesh.
