Ever wonder how strong a bear is?

This is why I always carry a gun when I visit the woods. You would not believe the tourists and other yahoos that get way too close to bears up here.

Bear traps weigh hundreds of pounds, and this bear tosses it around like it’s a toy!

Still think it would be fun to get close to a bear? Get more BearSmart tips about how to stay safe around bears at http://bearsmart.alberta.ca

  1. “This is why I always carry a gun when I visit the woods.”

It better be a big gun, because something like a 9mm or smaller will only piss him off. (one layer of thick skin, three inches of blubber, and then another layer of thick skin — a lot of smaller bullets will get lost in the blubber)

That’s a black bear and I’m surrounded by them. If they know you’re coming they’ll avoid you. (make noise as you walk)

    1. that is unless its a momma black bear with cubs…their entire demeanor changes once they have a purpose of protecting their own offspring

      I can relate

      1. yeah, I know… my dog chases cubs and it scares the crap out of me because I know Momma isn’t very far away.

  2. But..if you do want to find out for sure, there’s a bar near me (on the Canadian side of the border) where patrons can wrestle a black bear. He’s de-clawed and wears a muzzle, but any tough-guy can bring his beer muscles right into the cage and go a few rounds with a bear if he likes.

  3. Ever wonder how strong a bear is? If O’bola keeps kicking Vladdy in the balls with sanctions we might just find out.

  4. And yet bears are like squirrels. They both s+++ in the woods. I heard Dan’l Boone killed one when he was three. I’ll bet there was s+++ on both sides of that battle.

  5. I think you might want to identify your animals a little better….that little guy is a brown bear or a grizzly…..not one to be phucked with or taken lightly and yes a big gun like 44mag or bigger will do the trick……if you want get a 460 to pack around if u are on the canadian side of the boarder

    1. Really? Looked like a black bear to me, but I’m no expert. If it’s a brown bear or grizzly it’s a lot more dangerous.

  6. i can do that. if i had a way of posting it id post a vid of me lifting a dodge dart..

id probably still pee my britches if i seen one…lol

  7. Had one of them fellers in my front yard a couple of nights ago, so I been walkin the chihuahuas with a 12 gauge in the evening. Like JR say’s, just make some racket and they’ll generally mosey on. It’s the big cats that concern me more around here, had one of them fellers in the yard a few months back as well.

  8. Put Mike Tyson in a room with a chimpanzee,or a bear, in a fight to the death. The chimp might be missing an ear or two but he’ll be the one who comes walking out.

  9. Due to the frequency of human-bear encounters, the B.C. Fish and Wildlife Branch is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen and any persons that use the out of doors in a recreational or work related function to take extra precautions while in the field.

We advise the outdoorsman to wear little noisy bells on clothing so as to give advanced warning to any bears that might be close by so you don’t take them by surprise.

We also advise anyone using the out-f-doors to carry “Pepper Spray” with him is case of an encounter with a bear.

Outdoorsmen should also be on the watch for fresh bear activity, and be able to tell the difference between black bear feces and grizzly bear feces. Black bear feces is smaller and contains lots of berries and squirrel fur. Grizzly bear shit has bells in it and smells like pepper.

    1. bwahahahaah. I like that Phillip. Of course if a person has in his possession a liberty tool, he would have a decisive advantage.
