PASCAGOULA, Miss., June 28 (UPI) — Authorities are investigating the cause of a BP natural gas plant explosion in Pascagoula, Miss., that sent flames into the night sky late Monday.

“We would like to let our citizens know that there has been an explosion at the BP Gas Plant,” the Pascagoula Police Department said in a statement. “It is contained to the building. We are working with state and local officials regarding this. There will be no evacuations at this time and there are no injuries.”

WLOX-TV reported two workers were at the plant when the explosion occurred but were unharmed because they were both in an explosion-proof control room. Vibrations from the explosions were felt up to 10 miles away.
