Amy Barnes was arrested in Georgia in 2012 for using abusive words to “breach the peace,” for yelling at cops from her bike. Barnes was acquitted of all charges, and now she just won a civil suit in which she was awarded $100,000. One of her lawyers says these kinds of “contempt of cop” cases are on the rise.
