Gun Appreciation Day, Jan. 19, 2013: Obama’s Push for Gun Control Galvanizes 2nd Amendment Activists

Wake Up America – by Susan Duclos

Second Amendment to the United States Constitution:

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

One could say that second amendment activists are up in arms, as the Obama administration and liberals across the country exploit the tragedy of the Sandy Hook Massacre to push for their own political agenda of more gun laws, gun controls, bans and such.

Countering this push from the Democrats, second amendment and gun right proponents, have been breaking records across the country in guns sales, FBI background checks and gun training classes.

Those second amendment defenders and activists have also declared January 19, 2013, two days before Obama’s inauguration,  proposesas Gun Appreciation Day.

According to Dave Workman, a former board member at the National Rifle Association, official with Second Amendment Foundation and communications director for Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) , a Washington Post article detailing gun grab proposals within Obama’s newly announced gun violence task force led by Vice President Biden, has “galvanized the gun community.”

In an e-mail to TheBlaze, Larry Ward, chairman of GAD and president of Political Media, Inc.,  said that the initiative will likely make an impact on politicians who wish to restrict individual rights. The chairman noted that he hopes GAD will, “Strike the fear of God in the gun-grabbing politicians on both sides of the aisle when millions of Americans celebrate their Second Amendment rights in force.”

Broad Coalition of Gun Rights, Conservative Groups Proclaim January 19 “Gun Appreciation Day”
Americans nationwide urged to go to local gun shows, ranges,
and stores to show support for 2nd Amendment

Washington, D.C. – A new coalition of gun rights and conservative groups has proclaimed January 19, 2013, “Gun Appreciation Day” and begun urging Americans nationwide to show their support for gun ownership by turning out en masse at gun stores, ranges, and shows from coast to coast.

Scheduled to send a message to Washington two days before Obama’s second inauguration, the “Gun Appreciation Day” is expected to rival “Chick-fil-A Day” as a public statement of protest against government policies.

“The Obama administration has shown that it is more than willing to trample the Constitution to impose its dictates upon the American people,” said Gun Appreciation Day chairman Larry Ward, president of Political Media, Inc. “If the American people don’t fight back now, Obama will do the Second Amendment what he has already done to the First with Obamacare – gut it without a moment’s thought to our basic constitutional rights.”

The Gun Appreciation Day currently includes the following coalition members: SecondAmendment Foundation, Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, SpecialOperations Speaks, Revolution PAC, Citizens and Country, Social Security Institute, Committee to Draft Judge Andrew Napolitano, Conservative Action Alerts, Women Warriors PAC, Conservative Action Fund, and Political Media, Inc. Additional organizations are expected to join in the days ahead.

Gun Appreciation Day member organizations are urging their supporters to line up “around the block” at gun stores, gun counters, gun shows, and gun ranges to protest the Obama administration’s post Sandy Hook assault on gun rights. The organizations expect to reach more than 50 million Americans over the next two weeks in support of the Gun Appreciation Day online, on air and in their members’ inboxes.

Gun rights movement leader Alan Gottlieb founder of the Second AmendmentFoundation and chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms stated, “ We need to ban politicians who assault our rights, not firearms that are used thousands of times a day to protect lives and property from criminal attack.”

“We have never had a president who so callously disregards the Constitution, Congress, the courts, and the will of the American people,” Ward said. “And that’s why this outpouring of public support is so important for our constitutional safeguards to keep and bear arms. If, as this president claims, the American people are at risk from murderous rampagers, the logical solution is to arm, not present a docile target.”

I’ll leave you with the words from the late, great Charlton Heston, actor and once a great spokesman for second amendment actives. (Video below)

Listen to every word of his short speech. He wasn’t talking about Obama at the time, but he could have been as he references liberty and rights and those that would take them from us.

Every day is gun appreciation day.

I agree that everyday has been “gun day”, but I think it would have a good psychological effect on the anti-gun turds. Just go buy a box of target rounds or something. Obviously it isn’t because the gun shops are hurting for business but it would be nice to see everyone get out and rally behind the 2nd amendment.

  3. TranceAm says:

    Yeah,

I think I can spend a couple of bucks to buy a zombie poster, to help equal out the fear from both sides of each other.

Now if our fellow Americans that run these shops would do us and their Second Amendment a favor, and allow me to expand a smidge on this thought:

If they would publish their numbers as in what all was sold that day so an independent source can make some usable honest statistic that would mean something to both sides. I mean something like how many provable different customers that was sold to… The number of voters that willingly showed up in the unbinding referendum about the Second Amendment.

And the sales tickets, that is their copy, is almost like a voting ticket.

I wonder what eye opening miracles could happen if say a 100 Million Americans each would buy (1) 9mm bullet. (They are sold FMJ in boxes of 50) so with one box, a shop can let 50 customers vote….)

You catch my drift. As they said in the End of Reefer Madness…
(Spread the word, tell the Children, its going to be their America in a little while, and the second amendment is a right to any living American.)

I hope in a little while, EVERY American alive has a 9mm bullet in their family chest, and can tell their grandchildren, that this is one of the bullets that stopped the second civil war and revolution before it started. A bullet that was never fired.

Good Luck, and Sanity Blessed. TranceAm

    • NC says:

Well said. However, I don’t think just having a bullet will be enough to stop the assholes in power, but it’s a symbolic start.

      • TranceAm says:

Its not for the bullet. It is to give that silent majority of Americans a choice to issue a warning.

Imagine, the power of just one Bullet, that never has been fired, and represents the will of the people, as one silent warning to not overstep the last line where the ultimate right is defended. The right to life. And the means to defend it.

You are either with us or you are with the government terrorists. This is the war, the Founding Fathers knew we would have to fight and the stakes are nothing less than our Republic.

  5. # 1 NWO Hatr says:

The following day should be Patriot Appreciation Day.
