Here’s the oath taken by clerk jailed over gay marriage

Yahoo News, AP

In jailing a Kentucky court clerk who has refused to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, a federal judge noted that the clerk had sworn an oath to perform her job, just as many other public servants do. “Oaths mean things,” U.S. District Judge David Bunning told Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis on Thursday.

Here is the oath of office taken by court clerks and deputies in Kentucky:

___

Oath of clerk and deputies:

Every clerk and deputy, in addition to the oath prescribed by Section 228 of the Constitution, shall, before entering on the duties of his office, take the following oath in presence of the Circuit Court:

“I, _____, do swear that I will well and truly discharge the duties of the office of _____ County Circuit Court clerk, according to the best of my skill and judgment, making the due entries and records of all orders, judgments, decrees, opinions and proceedings of the court, and carefully filing and preserving in my office all books and papers which come to my possession by virtue of my office; and that I will not knowingly or willingly commit any malfeasance of office, and will faithfully execute the duties of my office without favor, affection or partiality, so help me God.”

    1. “carefully filing and preserving in my office all books and papers which come to my possession by virtue of my office”
“will faithfully execute the duties of my office without favor, affection or partiality, so help me God.”

ALL PAPERS WHICH COME IN TO MY POSSESSION.
I guess the word “all” like the word “only” in the Obamacare decision no longer means “all”, as no clerk can possibly know what she or he is going to be presented with.
Tell you what, next time a cop, a congressman, a senator violates his oath to protect and defend our Constitution, I don’t want to hear any complaints because I know there have been a lot of changes in the administration of the police state since he or she took office, and they are just doing what they figure is best for them. And I don’t want to hear any complaints because I see we have agreed that our due process ends where the first lowly bureaucrat dictates it ends.

        1. I don’t think there is any law to change, Katie.
As I explained the county clerk here where I live will not file any paper work for me. That is ANY. Why? Because I am a free man and the masonic lodge runs that office. Is this okay if the clerk is a Christian?
It seems this clerk in Kentucky puts a high value on her conscience, just not $80,000 worth.
Just me, but I would have just turned around and walked out. Quit. Guess this lady wants her conscience and thirty pieces of silver too.
You cannot get into government and retain morality, as this government in its essence has become an immoral act in progress. There never should have been such a thing as a license contract to marry and there never could have been had the churches remained sovereign.

            I have to agree.

  1. Definition of license from Black’s law: In the law of contracts. A permission, accorded by a competent authority, conferring the right to do some act which without such authorization would be illegal, or would be a trespass or a tort.

If people want to re-confirm their slavery by obtaining a “license” to marry, regardless of gender or orientation, then that is their will, albeit out of ignorance.

I personally do not need any sociopath’s permission, or the permission of a soul-less fascist communist government, to make any type of commitment to another human being, and living up to my freely made commitments is simply ethical and moral. It is the globally parasitic jew/zionist/masonic fascist dictate, that any freely made commitment is illegal without paying a tax to them, that is immoral and obscene.

  2. They should be careful throwing that oath word around when we have so many cops breaking their oath to the constitution they swore to uphold

I can’t wait to see this blow up in their face

  3. In Houston Texas there is a debate over if a man will be allowed into women’s bathrooms and locker rooms in public.

  4. The fact that we are even having this debate, shows how sick society in America really is. Where would we eventually draw the line? Incest? Bestiality? This Kentucky clerk should be honored for her stand. Long ago and on several occasions, I posted my belief that the women in this country, would show more guts than the men, even so-called patriot men.

  5. Jail? Why wasn’t she just fired? and……..when did Congress pass the LAW allowing gay marriage…..Supreme Court issued an OPINION they do not make law

  6. And today they got their marriage license issued to them in none other than…

    Morehead,KY

    Not sayin a worrrrrd…..
