A Jackson County Kentucky Sheriff is telling the Feds that they better not step foot into his jurisdiction. In fact, he is telling the Federal Government that he will not enforce any new gun control laws that he considers unconstitutional, and that they better remember that Sheriffs have more power than the Federal Government.
Jackson County Sheriff Denny Peyman told reporters that as Sheriff he has a “moral obligation” to uphold the Constitution of the United States. Therefore he will not allow the Feds to take any actions against the citizens within his jurisdiction.
He told Reporters:
“The Sheriff has more power than the Federal People.”
“We are a constitutional office and will uphold the Constitution…. American citizens already have given up too much power over guns… My office will not comply with any federal action which violates the United States Constitution or the Kentucky Constitution which I swore to uphold,” Peyman said. “Let them pull that stuff in other places if they want, but not in Jackson County, Kentucky.”

OMG…that sheriff is the man…makes a person feel proud to be an American.
Yeah this sounds great, yet somehow I see most of these guys bailing if the s*it hits the fan. Let’s see a d.a. or a.g. issue an opinion that deadly force used in defense of ones 2nd amendment rights is a recognized affirmative defense. That may get their attention.
Let’s hope he backs his words when the time comes and doesn’t chicken out on WE THE PEOPLE.
Yea NC , I know exactly what you are saying. It will be a nice change maybe if this sherrif/LEO actually does follow through with his plans. Every cop, LEO, Sherrif that I ever heard of was a sissy assed punk talking sh*t and then hidding under mamas skirt asking for protection when the going gets tough. Ya know how the old saying goes – ” when the going gets tough, the tough gets going”. I just do not think much of any one in law enforcement/govt. or what they have to say or promise, no matter who they are.
maybe we the people could grow balls and help him out, you know its not our right its our responsability !
Does he enforce unconstitutional federal drug laws?
This upstanding sheriff was in the local papers this week, over $200,000. missing from his office.
