Less Than 24 Hours After Obama Took Cuba off Terror List a Terror Group Sponsored by Cuba Kills 10

Wizbang – by Warner Todd Huston

On the very day after Obama took Cuba off the list of state sponsors of terrorism, a terrorist group that for decades has been sponsored and funded by Cuba killed 10 soldiers in Colombia. So much for Cuba’s innocence.

Cuba has been funding and training members of the terror group FARC since the 1960s and this is one of the big reasons that Cuba has been on the US list of state sponsors of terrorism. But Obama is now trying to open relations with Cuba so he has taken Cuba off that list in a purely political move not in one that reflects whether or not Cuba has stopped exporting terror.

In a a perfect example of Obama’s folly, less than 24 hours after Obama took Cuba off the terror list, FARC killed 10 soldiers and wounded 17 more in western Colombia.

The attack occurred in a small town in Cauca province, governor Temistocles Ortega told Blu radio, adding that four of the injured soldiers are in serious condition.

The Cauca region has been a stronghold for the rebel fighters, who are in peace talks with the Bogota government to end more than a half-century of hostilities.

“This is precisely the war that we are trying to end,” President Juan Manuel Santos said on Twitter.

The FARC in December declared a unilateral ceasefire, which it has said was meant to advance the negotiations, which have been under way since November 2012.

The fighting with FARC has killed over 200,000 and made over 5 million homeless.

Once again we see Obama materially aiding terrorism.

So, where is the media to report this? Absent, as usual.

  1. Interesting ….you would think the US would be happy since Cuba went after FARC,which is on US and European lists of terrorist organisations….so what am I missing here?
