Many feared dead after shooting spree at Munich shopping center, German news agency reports

Police in Munich reportedly said they expect “multiple dead” after a shooting spree inside a city shopping center, prompting a massive police response and an intense manhunt for possible suspects.

There were no official reports of injuries at the Olympia-Einkaufszentrum shopping mall but Germany’s dpa news agency reported that police are saying “we expect multiple dead.”

Munich police said there appears to be at least one suspect, but authorities would not confirm if any suspects are in custody or on the loose. Dpa reported that no one has been captured yet. There are reports of at least three people seen with guns.

The report said the attack started at a fast food restaurant in the mall, shortly before 6 p.m., according to Munich police spokesman Thomas Baumann. He was quoted as saying that police didn’t know whether they were dealing with one or more shooters.

The mall is located in the northern part of Munich is not far from the city’s Olympic Stadium in the Moosach district of the Bavarian capital.

“Many shots were fired, I can’t say how many but it’s been alot,” an employee at the mall told NTV, according to Reuters. “All the people from outside came streaming into the storeand I only saw one person on the ground who was so severelyinjured that he definitely didn’t survive.”

City police alerted the public that there is a large police operation, and asked that people avoid the area around the shopping center.

It’s the second attack in Germany in less than a week. On Monday, a 17-year-old Afghan wounded four people in an ax-and-knife attack on a regional train near the Bavarian city of Wuerzburg, and another woman outside as he fled. All survived, although one man from the train remains in life-threatening condition. The attacker was shot and killed by police.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the train attack, but authorities have said the teen likely acted alone.

The Munich Transportation Authorities said it halted service on multiple train, tram and bus lines after the shooting, Reuters reported.

  1. Oops! Sorry, Laura, I missed this one (you’d think 4 cups of coffee would be sufficient, but hey, I’m gettin’ old) 🙄 🙂

“City police alerted the public that there is a large police operation,…”

So… the pigs were behind the shooting?

        1. Quite possibly. ..definitely avoid anything Westgate property. Silverstein’s 9/11 partner had a string of “Muslim attacks” on his properties. Oh, in case you trump-et blowers didn’t know it, chump is a big fan of these 2 la kosher nostril a-holes and that’s why you’re a traitorous scumbag for believing he’s the lesser of 2 evils. Retarded dipsh**s. It’s common f’g knowledge, not some deep conspiracy sh*t, so use the 3-digit range of your i.q. and realize what you’re supporting for f’s sake!

          1. When Trump first ran, he wanted peace for Palestine. The Jews got ahold of him and explained how the Mossad works and he had a change of heart. I’ll take the devil Trump over the devil Hillary any day. It’s not the leaders I hold accountable for the Jews controlling us, but the preachers and stupid people who believe their lies. If the people would wake up to the lies, congress would kick Israel to the curb.

          2. @ Pioneer 8:55… (sorry, Martist, yours is the last reply button available to me)

“I’ll take the devil Trump over the devil Hillary any day.”

So you prefer cyanide to arsenic?

If you ‘vote’ for ANYONE, you’re a traitor.

  2. I saw one alleged picture at another site. A space blanket was over a body or mannequin.. No blood oozing onto the ground. I have lost count of the number of exercises. That video shows a lot of people walking in one direction. It doesn’t prove anything. Unless you saw the event or have a very trusted friend at the event, you can not believe that it ever happened.

Caution. The media is not a reflection of reality.

  3. I scrolled through the pictures from the Dailymail out of Britain.
All looked like there was an exercise going on. Any picture that would identify a location, the alleged shooter, or a victim was fuzzy. Any other pictures were crystal clear. What good are security cameras if the video quality is so poor.

  4. So, AGAIN we have officials who don’t know how many are dead/wounded or who the shooter is a DAY after the shooting?
