Military Members Speak Out Against Syrian War Through Anonymous Meme

Military-meme-350x250The Liberty Crier

Are we witnessing the beginnings of a new military member internet meme?

Military members are donning their uniforms and posting pictures of themselves with signs covering their faces that read, “I didn’t join the [military service branch name] to fight for Al-Quaeda in a Syrian civil war.”

The first image surfaced on the internet a few days ago and now another military member has made their own version.

Have military members finally found a way to speak out against U.S. Imperial foreign policies?

  1. I can understand why they do not want to show heir faces but if they did I think that it would make a bigger impact. It would show that they are not afraid of retaliation from the militery and the govt. By covering their faces just goes to show that they are afraid and do not trust the military and the govt. and that is not how it should be in the so called “Land of the Free”.

    1. It goes deeper than that Digger,

If they were to protest, even in this manner, and were readily identifiable,.. there is slew of UCMJ charges the military could destroy their careers, &/or their type of Discharge (Honorable, Dishonorable, OTH – Other Than Honorable) with, plus put them in Leavenworth Prison for who knows how many years breaking big rocks into little ones with a 10lb sledge.

And that is just the beginning.

However you are correct about the kind of commentary it makes as to the actual amount of “Freedom” any given servicemember has, and the criminal nature of this gov’t, and its reaches into the very depths of the ranks of those who are expected to throw themselves on the barbwire when the moment comes.

This is the best these guys can do at the moment with minimal risk.

More importantly,…What this really tells us is, the military is awake, or at least some of its members are, and you can be sure that for every one that braved this act,.. there are 10,000 who are thinking the same.

JD – US Marines – Sometimes,.. the military can resemble something closer to slavery than a “volunteer” fighting force.

      1. Yes JD, I bothers me when people have to act in this manner for the reasons you mention. Like you say “Sometimes the military can resemble something closer to slavery than a “volunteer” fighting force.” Our military is not a bunch of slaves, our military is the best fighting force in the whole world and ,IMOHO, is being taken advantage of by the govt.

    2. I don’t know, Digger, I think I kind of like them not knowing who is who. It allows for them to wonder which way any given soldier’s gun is going to point when the time comes.

      1. Yes Henry I can understand what you are sayin`, I do kind of think though that the way that the govt. thinks they would look at it as a fear of the govt. – ya know – kind of like a pasive submissive thing by not fully standing up to the govt – by not showing their faces – when they know that the govt. is wrong. All respect to our military men and women by the way. I probobly would try to remain anonimous too in their position perhaps for the reasons that you state there Henry.

        1. Hi, digger! (Yes, I’m back. 🙂 )
JD is absolutely right and I agree w/ Henry, though I get what you’re saying. 🙂

          1. YAYYYYYY!!! Great to see you back, Angel. Been worried about you, you’ve been gone so long. MISSED YOU!!! 🙂

  2. Thank God for the ones with the balls to speak up like this. May the psychopaths in Washington leave huge skid marks in their depends.

  3. Really? What exactly did these guys join the military for then? The military hasn’t been fighting for anything noble or honorable for decades. Are these guys just now figuring this out? They balk at fighting for “al Qaeda” in Syria, but
have no problem killing innocent men, women and children for the banking cartels, the oil industry, the illicit drug trade, and the Zionists, etc.

  4. This is a prime example of where we are as a society…when our best and bravest can’t express an opinion or belief without fear of prosecution and punishment. They must hide their identities and pretend to go along with the “official propaganda” or face imprisonment because they can see through the bullshit. They can see the brainwashing. They can see the cognitive dissonance…but they aren’t allowed to speak of it.

    1. It’s nothing new, tammyc. The moment they sign on that dotted line they lose their own personal rights. It’s the “Military Way,” unfortunately (always has been, and applies to their family members as well. 🙁 ).
