Chicago, IL – The massive 2013 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), signed into law by President Obama Jan. 2, contains sanctions that effectivly ban Iran’s popular station, Press TV, from U.S. airwaves or cable networks. Press TV is still available on the internet.
Following the NDAA’s passage, Press TV interviewed Chicago anti-war leader Joe Iosbaker. The interview can be seen here. http://www.presstv.com/detail/2013/01/05/281926/us-has-torture-chambers-… . Iosbaker is also a spokesperson for the Committee to Stop FBI Repression, and is one of the anti-war and international solidarity activists whose home was raided by the FBI.
Iosbaker told Press TV, “In order for there to be an anti-war movement, there has to be alternative sources of information. And they’re afraid of the anti-war movement because even in just the recent history, the anti-war movement has had consequences for the rulers here.”
The NDAA sanctions on Iran target the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and the President of the IRIB, Ezzatollah Zargami. The law calls for “placing them on the list of specially designated nationals and blocked persons maintained by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the Department of the Treasury.”
Iosbaker said to Press TV, “Anyone who has even a cursory understanding of history knows that the U.S. government has always been doing one of two things. They have always been either repressing dissent or they have been actively preparing to repress it.”
This is not the first such move by the U.S. The U.S. currently bans the popular and progressive Lebanese TV station Al-Manar. In 2008, a New York businessman was jailed for ‘material support for terrorism’ for including Al’Manar in satellite TV broadcast in the U.S.

Ok, when you need a bill like the NDAA to ban an Iranian news station because you don’t like Iran, then that is just pathetic. I’m sorry. And the elite think WE the people have mental problems? Now that is just beyond ridiculous. That’s like using the NDAA to ban the Cartoon Network because you don’t like cartoons. It has nothing to do with the military. How much lower can our government truly get.
That is a clear violation to Freedom of Press & 1st Amendment.
It don’t matter what the American government thinks the people should hear, it is the American people that decide what they want to hear.
When will they start closing web sites, new papers, since they contain thoughts the American Government don’t want Americans to think about.
Exactly what I was thinking. This govt. here that we got has been taking our rights away lieing to us all, and nickle and diming us for years and they have been allowed to get away with it. Now they seem to think that they are all powerful. All of them lawmakers and anyone that supports them lawmakers cry like little babies when they don`t get their way and then they do things like this and wonder why we all do not like this govt.

“We”,… as in, “We The People”, need to water and refresh the Tree Of Liberty,… WHILE WE CAN.
The reason the Patriot Act, NDAA, and the 10,000 other illegal and Unconstitutional “laws” can stand, is because the US Fed Gov’t is NOT an American gov’t,… it IS an, “Enemy Force In Occupation”,.. and as such,.. they are not obligated, nor care to acknowledge OUR laws or Constitution.
They instead issue THEIR Edicts and Proclamations, which they call, “Laws”,.. that we are suppose to blindly obey.
And as with ALL Occupying Enemy Forces, their objectives are always the same:
1) Extract ALL wealth.
2) Steal ALL lands
3) Remove ANY capacity for resistance (remove all weapons, leaders, communication channels/news.)
3) Exterminate signaificant portion of population.
OUR window of opportunity to fight back and restore our Republic,.. is closing fast.

I’ve read some good articles – even posted a few – from Press TV. They report things on the Middle East that our so-called ‘government’ would prefer not to be known.
This just proves that ideas and truth are more powerful than any weapon.
They’re afraid Ahmadinejad is going to come off looking like a better president than el duce Barry Sotero. I’ve already heard better words come out his mouth.
That wouldn’t be hard to accomplish.
Ahmadinejad is my hero, as far as world leaders go these days. I’d vote (assuming a valid voting process, that is) for him for president over any POS we have in Congress.
In fact, I’d trade the ENTIRE Congress for him.
But that’s just me.
Of course the ndaa denies rights.Rights that the ndaa has no right to deny.The ndaa has no right to even exist,pretending that the powers that be are greater than that of the Creator.The ndaa loves to usurp our rights;Obama loves to be our king,..Rothschilds love to start our wars for their own benefit and don’t they own enough media outlets to pull it off.And all of this insignificant bullshit from a fool only means that if we go into Iran it will start W.W.3 and we shall all receive the eternal security that we so richly deserve.How can a country who calls itself free have a rogue military engaging in genocide while half a world away it’s happening to the families of the very same soldiers?
I hope people don’t get upset with me, but I found that only Veteran’s Today as the source of this information. I love VT and from the trenches, but I’ve been watching Gordon Duff like a hawk lately…mainly because of his ego…I hope I am wrong and will apologize in a second if I am wrong. Maybe I’m just paranoid after all the psyops done to us Americans…love to all….

it’s orders from TerrorViv.
press-tv has had it’s sat downlinks shutdown over europe, asia, and now the north-american continent.

…because you are an aware, self-informed, reasonable person who has grown up among so much cognitive dissonance….so much BS within our socialization process…the idea of seeing our great USA as the bad guy is difficult to do…but as I said…awake and aware is a dangerous combination for the powers-that-be…so your observation is spot-on…
