No More Choosing Roommates For NYU Freshmen

Beginning this fall, incoming freshman at New York University will no longer have the luxury of choosing their roommates.

Beginning in the 2013-14 school year, rather than giving students the option of rooming with their high school friends or others of their choosing, the university will instead pair roommates together in an effort create a “global and inclusive campus community,” the NYU Local student blog reported.

In pairing up roommates, the university will still consider requests for “exploration floors,” in which residents participate in programs and activities together based on specific interests – as well low-cost housing, NYU Local said.

But the primary determining factor for matching roommates will also be “geographic diversity” – pairing together students from different states or countries, the blog reported.

Meanwhile, for upperclassmen, gender-neutral housing has been placed into effect. Students may live in the same room with a friend – or romantic partner – of the opposite sex, according to the NYU Local blog.

NYU has seven first-year residence halls.

Columbia University and the New School both continue to allow freshmen to make requests for specific roommates, according to DNAInfo.

  1. I went to a couple of online dictionaries and looked up tolerance. It doesn’t seem to mean the same thing as it did when I was at school. The closest non- PC modified terms I could find where in synonyms at dictionary.com Here’s the only two that appear to mean what the word once meant.
    1) toleration agree in allowing the right of something that one does not approve.
2)Toleration implies the allowance or sufferance of conduct with which one is not in accord: ie toleration of graft.
I must look at a pre-web dictionary to see what they say about the matter.

If I had been forced to room with someone who’s lifestyle/behaviour/eccentricities I didn’t accept I would have made a very big deal out of it. I guess that makes me a bigot and worthy of expulsion in today’s brave new world.

This is all to prevent groups from getting together and rebelling against the government and to promote a one world order.

It’s just like the preschool that I was working at last year for only 3 days in Austin, TX who’s principal (who was an Indian from India) stated that one of her goals was to have us “instruct the children on how to be better Global citizens”. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!!!! WHAT??!!! GET THE HELL OUTTA MY COUNTRY, BITCH!!!! Now you know why I quit.

This is just like they are doing with our troops mixing with the UN troops when they will come for gun confiscation. They will pair up 2 US troops with 8 UN troops and the peer pressure will force the US troops to go along with it, even though they don’t want to. It’s all psychological peer pressure being used here and to further promote globalism and one world order and that motherF**KER OBAMA IS USING IT TO DESTROY WHAT’S LEFT OF OUR COUNTRY!!! I hate cursing, but I’M MAD AS HELL AND I AIN’T TAKING THIS SHIT ANYMORE!!!!!

  3. My Fellow Commrades! (in thick russian accent…)

    Welcome to new utopia!

Our glooorius eader says we must live as one!!

Now dirty stinkin trash live with you so we are all same!!!

    Welcum to new skhool commarades!!

    Your Political Campus Officer

    NYU – Never You Understand!!

  4. New York again, I see.

    The Third Amendment
“No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.”

So this NYU policy appears to be preparatory acclimatization of students for eventual forced quartering of foreign soldiers in their homes.

    Impossible?
Haven’t we believed so many ridiculous events these days could never happen?

I pick on NY, but the University of Texas expounds this “Global Citizen” drivel as well.
