RT News Although the Senate voted against cybersecurity legislation demanding new regulations in cyberspace, President Obama may issue an executive order to have the bill implemented without the approval of Congress.
Regardless of Congressional rejection, Obama claims “we can’t wait,” and may issue an executive order forcing companies to implement new cybersecurity standards.
Opponents of the bill have already accused the president of making illegal power grabs with some of his previous executive actions. To date, he has issued more than 130.
“Moving forward, the President is determined to do absolutely everything we can to better protect our nation against today’s cyber threats and we will do that,” said White House Press Secretary Jay Carney in an e-mail to Washington newspaper The Hill.
The bill Senate voted down would require private companies and the government to share information regarding cybersecurity threats. It would also require better protection of critical pieces of infrastructure, like water filtration facilities and the power grid, and would give the Department of Homeland Security the authority to lead the cybersecurity team.
President Obama has long been urging Congress to pass the Cybersecurity Act of 2012, which was introduced by Senators Joe Lieberman (I-CT) and Susan Collins (R-ME). Last year, the White House proposed its own cybersecurity legislation, presenting more than 100 briefings on the issue and testifying at 17 Congressional hearings.
Last month, an Obama op-ed in the Wall Street Journal emphasized the need for greater cybersecurity legislation. The president painted a picture of how America’s enemies could cause widespread destruction without setting foot in the US. All it takes, Obama said, is hackers who can break through private companies’ online security.
“In a future conflict, an adversary unable to match our military supremacy on the battlefield might seek to exploit our computer vulnerabilities at home,” he wrote. “Taking down vital banking systems could trigger a financial crisis. The lack of clean water or functioning hospitals could spark a public health emergency. And as we’ve seen in past blackouts, the loss of electricity can bring businesses, cities and entire regions to a standstill.”
But those who voted against the bill said the legislation would burden businesses with unnecessary and ineffective regulations.
Only 52 Senators voted for the bill.
And rather than wait for Congress to come to an agreement on cybersecurity, Obama could make a move that would enrage the bill’s opponents, bypassing the Senate’s decision and implementing the new laws without approval. Even Senator Collins, one of the bill’s creators, who has been fiercely lobbying for its support, is against the principle of forcefully implementing it.
“I’m not for doing by executive order what should be done by legislation,” she said.

…I love it…the emperor does not like the decision or voice of the American People ….(The Senate, ha!)…so he’s just going to make up the law he thinks we all need…I’m certain non of his buddies or business partners are going to make a dime off the new “law”…er….proclamation…..Jesus!..What a fascist…!

What is most interesting is that that same family will vote him right back in like the battered wives they are.
Well, well, well,…
It seems IL Duce,.. or should we call him by his proper name,.. IL Douch-Bag,… is upset with people actually trying to stop tyranny.
Hhmmm,… in a previous article, “Congress just abolished one of its most important Constitutional powers”, Mr Shivley & Mr Schumacher suggest a solution, which given the graven and unprecedented treason committed by this pure pyschopath, would be the best option for addressing this.
I can only pray that one of these FBI/CIA Pysch-Ops Patasies who decides to go on a killing spree, decides to go after one of the real enemies of this country,.. IL Douch-Bag.

how about just voting him OUT of office??
If Lord Obama signs that thing, I will need a lot more than “anger management” classes to keep me from pulverizing anyone who implements it. And they ain’t messin’ with my water any more than they have been doing already! F**KING BASTARDS!!
His pic. there makes me wonder if he is waving high or goodbye. he make me feel betrayed myself, the F***`n flip flopper.
He’s probably saying, “No pictures please. I did not authorize it.”
hahah cough hahahahah
Hi diggerdan,
Actually,..I think the reporter was asking him how many good jobs are left in this country.
His answer, as he holds up his fingers,…”Five,… just five…”
JD
How ya doing JD. It might just be the proverbial five finger discount. for jobs that is – lol.
Henry and the rest of you have to check out this story and get the word out. It shows over 100 US tanks and APCs on a train line being transported like an assembly line to Burbanks, CA with pedestrians standing by and watching in amazement. It’s sickening.
Hi NC,
I’m not so sure those are all tanks. (The video is shakey and a little blurry)
Tanks have barrels on them, so those are either incomplete tanks (unlikely), or some type of APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier).
As for camo, its also not unusual to send them overseas in their hometown dress colors (Woodland Camo), and then they get a new coat of paint over there. I know because I was on a paint detail once where we washed and brushed the vehicles clean,.. and then painted them right there in the open desert.
As for numbers,.. a 100 or so is nothing, although this doesn’t mean there is no reason for concern,.. but I don’t know why these vehciles would be on their way to Burbank, CA.
This could be normal replacements, or returning vehicles, or vehicles being send up to division echelon servicing,… or perhaps worse,…
No way of knowing from just a little clip like this.

Yea that seems to be what some of the comments were saying on the Youtube website, too. They said they can be painted over in another country as well.
By the way, what would have been great is if someone sabotaged that train line. It would have put a small damper into the U.S.’s war plans. lol I keep thinking of the book “Total Resistance” by Major H. Von Dach Bern. Good stuff.
Also, supposedly Lockheed Martin has one of their headquarters in Burbank, CA. So some people think that is where they are going. Who knows.
If you check out the location of West Coast Janitorial Supplies (as shown on the sign of the building in the video at the end) in relation to Lockheed Martin and the West Coast on google maps, the train line is pretty much heading in the same direction towards Lockheed Martin and the West Coast if you follow the line.
I only wish the good ol` Jonny Carson could have seen that one. Tanks as far as the eye could see! Let the DOD explain that one and try to sugar coat it. Good one NC.

Doublespeak for: the ‘president’ is determined to do abslutely everything he can to suppress the truth and freedom of infomation.
