Opt out

I just opted out of smart meter on my house. Will cost 24.00 a month. What a racket.

Get ready, Trenchers. This kind of confiscation is coming to you as well.

  1. wonder what would happen if they came out and put that smart meter on..and 4 days later it mysteriously got smashed , so they put on another one and ..dam if not 5 days later the 2nd one was smashed ..etc.. etc.. etc..

sooner or later that 24 dollar a month charge for leaving it the F alone would start to look like the right way to keep things..wouldnt you say?..with out the charge that is

now im not advocating you smash your own meter .. but isnt there some anti smart meter vigilantes in your area

  2. This is one of the reasons why I am SO GLAD that I moved off of the grid 3 and a half years ago! My “smart meter” is my solar electricity set up! The nearest conventional grid is 20 miles away, no electric company anywhere near me!

  3. I recently got a nasty gram from PEPCO in Maryland that they were going to charge me more money if I did not opt out or allow the technician to install a smart meter. I told them ‘no’, I was not going to sign an opt out agreement and ‘no’, they were not allowed on my property and ‘no’, they were not allowed to install a smart meter on my house.

BTW, my home owners insurance will not cover fire damage to my house caused by the smart meter installation, especially if I gave PEPCO permission to install one. So they will probably start charging me more money.

I’ve learned to cut back my energy use significantly which will help off set the additional monthly penalty fees.
