Attack the Mainstream Media Propagandists

The mainstream media is bought and paid for by the international corporate mafia and is nothing more than their mouthpiece for spreading their propaganda towards their end goal of a one world corporate run government.

The mainstream media has been ignoring the 99ers and our plight.  This being the case we must do everything we can to reverse the news blackout.

So if there is a news event, press release, town hall meeting, or political speech, join in. Make a sign. Let them think you represent one side or the other. And then, in the middle of the event, throw down your sign and start screaming, “Stop the media blackout on the 99ers!” and “You are a corporate whore!” until they drag you away.  If you can get five or ten people you should be able to raise quite a ruckus.

99ers who want to act now must realize that our enemies’ most vulnerable front line troops are the mainstream propagandists. Therefore the only logical step is to attack the mainstream propagandists in every venue.

Where’s the President? Globe trotting for corporate support in other countries, he’s absolutely not addressing the current issue of the long term unemployed (99ers)! Neither the president nor any other elected official will do anything until the main stream media (ABC, CBS and NBC) brings to light the fact that the bill passed in December to help the unemployed is misleading and a shameful LIE, to project the image that all of the unemployed is receiving a 13 month extension. Most news articles indicated payments for the unemployed were held up only since November 2010. (This was only an extension for Tiers 1 thru 4) Payments for those that have exhausted over 99 weeks (requiring a Tier 5 or other extension) have been stopped since April 2010.

Where is the investigative reporting? Look at the disruption in other countries. (Libya, Greece, Albania, Tunisia, Egypt, etc,) How did their people get the truth about their government’s problems? More than likely investigative reporters, reporting of the truth. Until our correct and true story is reported during the first few minutes on the (ABC, CBS and NBC before the 1st commercial break) evening news, no one will hear our screams! For those of us that still have any money left, boycott all products advertised during news programs.

We need more than the internet community. Even what Rupert Murdoch doesn’t own still mimics his lead. Google’s headlines are the same as the main stream media! Not to mention Obama’s 13 month unemployment extension misinformation indicating we’re all being taken care of! If everyone was aware of the truth we would have more support from main stream America. We need jobs now or an extension! Will millions of jobs be created next week, next month, in the next couple of months? We needed jobs back in April 2010 when the 99 week unemployment payments were eliminated. What are we expected to do in the meantime? Also without any income since April 2010, how are we expected to get to what little employment that’s being currently offered or any job interview!

Also why is it so difficult for me to find the most current information regarding the status of an extension for the 99ers? We should be one of the items on Google’s “US” news section. Similar to the way Libya is covered everyday in the “World” news section.

The country wants to cut the budget on programs for less fortunate Americans. I say take money from the thieves that stole it in the first place. Like the Wall st. robber barons. For example John Paulson, hedge fund manager. If you divide his 2010 take by the standard work year of 2,080 hours, you’ll find that he had a wage of $2.4 million an HOUR. In fact, he barely evaded prison for his role in Goldman Sachs’ Abacus deal, which suckered investors into buying securities that were explicitly designed to fail. Remember all the urgency in Washington to save Wall Street from collapse? It sure wasn’t there for the jobs crisis. Desperate to prevent even more damage, we taxpayers bailed the bankers out. And now, a couple of years later, the bankers are making record profits again while millions of regular Americans are still searching for jobs that Wall Street destroyed.

Lastly, aren’t there Republican’s that are 99ers as well? I hear very little complaining from them. They should be the most vocal of our cause! Outside of N. J. most Republican politicians won’t accept E Mail from another district, however some Democrats will!

One way to stop the news media, stop your cable TV. I don’t have cable and I don’t watch TV. This should send a good message. Stop the flow of money to ABC, NBC, CBS. There’s too much brainwashing, I refuse to be polluted.

I agree with much of what you have said, that MSM is responsible for so many Sheeple – but I disagree with the need to extend unemployment.
Listening to Ron Paul and thinking about the issue AND being 2 years away from my Entitlement/Retirement called SSI….. I am using this approach.
One rental property (8plex) free and clear will produce an income of about $2000/month.
One farm free and clear with alternative energy (off grid power/water) to provide food and shelter will allow me to reduce my expenses significantly. ( I guess I will not be flying to Europe occasionally for vacation – but that is the costs of financial security.)
I may collect my entitlement for as short a time as possible – and if all goes well – refund it to my son who is likely to pay in and not recieve anything in return (unless it is our generation).

Reduce ones expenses by living modestly and sharing resources with friends/family who do have cash flow is my hope for the future of our welfare system . Not taxing the 48% who have incomes but no accountant to hide the profits.

      Kathy,
I too have cut back in an effort to dull the effect of the debt incurred through $32 trillion of theft. I do not want the central banks to have to pay it back. That would feel like charity. Instead, we are only having caviar Monday through Friday. On the weekends we are roughing it with steak and lobster. I’ve also had the Jacuzzi taken out of my jet in effort to conserve jet fuel.
Lady, you not only do not live in my world, you don’t even know my universe exists. But that’s alright because they are not through taking from you yet. One day when you truly understand the effects this depression has had on what used to be our middle class, come on back and slum it with the rest of us poor folk on this site.

I do not want to get in a pissing contest – but the real estate I own was from living frugally (never moved out of my starter home for 25+ years) and working more that full time for years. I was not given anything from my parents except a strong work ethic. Don’t get me wrong either – but life throws curve balls to some people – but working at least 10-14 hours a day has helped me get ahead – and I was not given anything without working for it.

    • Henry Shivley - OR says:

      Katharine,
Okay, you’ve worked hard for most of your life. The fact is if you think they are done taking from you, well they are not. And there are some people who have been completely wiped out, some are living in storm drains. Work ethic and frugality can’t do a person a whole lot of good when they have lost everything they had. And work ethic and frugality is not going to save anyone if these dirtbags decide to take the rest of what they have.
I may have been a little harsh with you but foregoing a trip to Europe doesn’t really seem like suffering to someone living in a storm drain.

Only 10-14 hours a day? I envy you. Life must be a permanent vacation. I also held a number of properties and owned three businesses as well as a respectable portfolio when things went upside down. It didn’t come from lounging around 10-14 hours a day either. (24 hrs – 14 hrs worked = 10 hrs off. 24 hrs – 10 hrs worked = 14 hrs off. The life of Riley!)

When the crap hit the fan (in 2008) my cash flow dropped 85%. As it continued, I was forced to close two of the three businesses I built with sweat and blood, and then began liquidating properties, one by one, at 40 cents on the dollar in a vain effort to save my credit. I’m still on the ropes and struggling to keep my home. Granted, I don’t need to live on the waterfront in a house much bigger than I need, but it’s all I have left, and….. it’s home.

Glad to hear everything is coming up roses for you. Wish I lived in your world. And I’m one of the lucky ones, who still lives indoors and eats every day.

My wife and I turned our TV of in 2008. We don’t read the “newspapers” or magazines either. Now…that may or may not be a good thing! As far as we are concerned, it’s all propaganda anyway.
I will say that if “they” shut down the internet we will be struck deaf and dumb.

About the only thing I have use for in the media is either severe weather events which they often try to hype up or police chases which they have the ability to cover it live and get up close which is safer to watch it from you’re home then to get involved looking for a fight.

I am tired of the near retirement aged people condescending my generation. The opportunities you Boomers had don’t exist anymore. Claiming poverty can be avoided with a work ethic is a total knee jerk defense so you can feel protected from the reality of the changing economy.

You see, after finishing college and logging 245 resumes sent out, I was unemployed for 1.5 years. Because my generation graduated into the Great Recession where 25% of 20-29 year olds cannot get jobs, this was my reality. Looming student loan repayment, eviction notices, and selling furniture to pay rent in hopes that someone would let me work soon. As a registered nurse who made honor roll and having a disciplined life and high morals, I know it was nothing I had done to “deserve” this.

Seeing Engineers working at the gas station because there were no jobs, meeting an accountant working the register at UHaul, and then seeing my own husband in his 20s getting”sorry we have no open position” letters… Seeing the despair, the loss of hope, the depression… I’ve felt it firsthand..asking people for money for food. It’s humiliating.

This is reality for us college graduates in our 20s. You’ve seen an increasing young population on the side of the road with their Help signs.

And you BABY BOOMERS HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS REALITY. So it’s easy to tell others, “I did it, so anybody can.” You are naive. Wake up. We need your help, if you’re so smart and can McGuyver your way out of poverty like you talk about.

Don’t tell young people who are working that that they should think about saving, like you did, when they had to get a degree to decrease the number of years they will remain unemployed -just to make 2/3rs if what you made. Believe me, they would save if they had money left over, like you did back when the economy was booming. No need to point out to them that they won’t have enough money to ever retire. We are well aware already, and don’t need advice from someone who has never experienced the reality that your generation has caused.

, BabyBoomers, you could find a job right out of high school. You could start a business at cheap rates, and you could bounce around to jobs and support a family with no education because jobs were plentiful and they paid a rate that wasn’t inflated.

I stepped into a job market where entry level jobs required a college degree – and found that when I got that they also required experience. Even to bag groceries, you needed experience or a connection. And be able to beat the other 50 candidates also competing for that bagger job.

And now that I’ve secured employment, I’m paid less because so many people want the job that employers can pay less, AND inflation has made my college, middle class income only stretch 2/3 of what it would buy when you, BabyBoomers, think of when you hear an amount.

Working with the old population, Im stunned to hear how little of them are college graduates, yet were paid a wage 2-4 times what I make in a career that cost $30,000 of debt to even secure employment.

I envy you Boomers. It must be nice to live in a world where you think unemployment never would have happened to you. Unfortunately I and my spouse, and our community don’t get to experience that economy, where sorrow wasn’t the norm.

This is my hope- the boomers will stop saying the cause of unemployment is a personal defect, and see that the defect is WallStreet.

Until you stop claiming it would never happen to you, you have divided yourself from the current reality. We need you on our side, a union, against WallStreet greed- they are the defect that causes unemployment. Poverty is a corporate defect. Put the criminals in jail and being back The land of opportunity. End the Fed, which puts my generation into indentured servitude.

Boomers- please wake up and quit separating yourself from the 99% by thinking you’re not one of them. You’re savings are being eaten away through inflation too..
