Update: 6:00am PST Second shooter evades capture – A Los Angeles Police Department patrol car was fired on in an “unprovoked attack” Sunday night that put police officers around the city on tactical alert.
The shooting took place late Sunday in a neighborhood in South Los Angeles as two officers were responding to an unrelated radio call.
“A couple of officers were rolling down the street when they observed the muzzle of a rifle firing in their direction,” LAPD Sgt. James Shray told MyFox LA. “They responded to the muzzle flash.”
LAPD spokeswoman Officer Nuria Venegas told The Associated Press Monday that one man was under arrest and a second suspect was being sought.
One of the officers returned fire at two suspects. The officers nabbed one of the suspects and recovered the rifle.
LAPD Capt. Lillian Carranza told KTLA-TV that several rounds were fired at the patrol car.
“This was a completely unprovoked attack,” she said.
Dozens of police officers from around the city rushed to the area of the shooting to search for the second suspect, warning nearby residents to stay in their homes. The search involving 60 officers, a SWAT team and K-9 units was called off around 6 a.m. local time after the suspect could not be found. (read more)

LOS ANGELES (KABC) – The Los Angeles Police Department has declared a citywide tactical alert after two suspects fired at a patrol car with a rifle Sunday night.
The incident occurred at 62nd and Hoover streets at about 9:20 p.m. Police say every available officer has been sent to the area.
One suspect is in custody. A wide perimeter is set up from Gage Avenue to 61st Street and between Hoover Street and Vermont Avenue as officers search for the second suspect.
Police say he is considered armed and dangerous.
Neighbors are being warned to stay inside. A rifle has been recovered. No officers were injured. (more)

I think the cops need a come to Jesus moment and realize this is 100% their own fault for many years of abuse on the people

Funny. When I called the cops about someone shooting at my car they didn’t send 60 cops, the SWAT team and the K-9 units….they sent Barny Fifthe in a 1982 Crown Vic and his one bullet.

I think it’s all BS. The guy or guys doing the shooting need to go to a shooting class. They fired “several” shots and hit nothing. So “bumbled” is correct as apposed to “assassination”. Sounds like it was Barny and Jerry doing the shooting.
