PATERSON — An army veteran and his service dog were asked to leave a Paterson Subway restaurant on Saturday, according to a News 12 report.

An employee told PTSD sufferer Richard Hunter that his service dog Bonner was making customers feel uncomfortable and was not allowed in the restaurant, the report said.

The Americans with Disabilities Act allows businesses to remove a service animal if it’s poorly behaved or poses a direct threat to the health and safety of patrons. Hunter denies that Bonner fit such criteria, and told the news station he was “embarrassed and humiliated.”

A manager eventually offered to serve Hunter, but he instead left the restaurant, News 12 reported.

  1. We put these not knowing poor bastards in harms way and treat them like crap when they come back. F-ck subway.

  2. Terry: we put these people in harms way, They went into the military of their own free will. A business can serve anyone they want and refuse to serve.
