Recipe for Thanksgiving

Here is a turkey recipe that also includes using popcorn as a stuffing ingredient. I thought it was perfect for you guys who just are not sure how to tell when the turkey is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out.

Give this a try.

  • 8 – 15 lb. Turkey
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is Good)
  • 1 cup un-popped popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER’S LOW FAT IS BEST)
  • Salt/pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter, salt, and pepper.

Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan making sure the neck end is toward the front of the oven, not the back.

After about 4 hours listen for the popping sounds.

When the turkey’s ass blows the oven door open and the bird flies across the room,…. it’s done.

And, you thought I didn’t cook…

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

    1. Nasty day. Got all my shopping done yesterday. Stayed inside, where it’s warm & dry, today. Prepping for tomorrow. 😉

      1. yep same here. kind of sad on the hillidays anymore. we used to have big gatherings at our house. now wifes mom and dad are in homes and in a condition that keeps one from knowing whats even happening, and the other one is physically unable to enjoy much. We really miss those days. Family is spread out all over the country. At least we have the memories though., 🙂

        1. Yup.
However, Hubby HATES Turkey. So I got a 9+ lb. Chicken (plus, it is only the 2 of us). Cooked many a Turkey, in the past, though. My largest Thanksgiving dinner was with 1st Hubby (dinner for 35). We use to have all the “orphans” (artists/musicians/friends & their friends/dates [mostly bachelors LOL] who couldn’t afford to go home) over for dinner. I did All of the cooking.

          1. THIRTY FIVE. WOW!!!
