RFID at Target

Recently, there was an announcement by a corporate executive from Target that they’re planning to stealthily put RFID tags (tracking chips) on individual store items. Their plan is to introduce the technology at just 12 stores, before rolling out to the entire chain, she cited. What that means is that individual shelves at Target will become RFID readers, she warned, and the problem with that is not only will the shelf be emitting constant electromagnetic radiation, but it can also read your enhanced driver license right through your pocket and glean information about you.

She  ( Katherine Albrecht ) criticized invasive technologies such as the Google Voice program which listens to everything you say, ostensibly for when you pose a question to it, as well as some Samsung smart TVs that have built-in microphones which can transmit information to third parties. Albrecht connected the rise of the smart watch, and future wearable technologies with ‘end times’ biblical prophecy related to the Mark of the Beast.

  1. “… not only will the shelf be emitting constant electromagnetic radiation, but it can also read your enhanced driver license right through your pocket and glean information about you.”

A plus for our enemies on both counts.

  2. And don’t forget your chipped credit cards, state ID (if not licensed), passport (if carried), medical insurer’s card, etc. I quit shopping there when they wouldn’t let me see what info was harvested from my DL when writing a check.

Time to get metal window screen, make an envelope and carry all the above in it.

Now, don’t we all feel safer?

  3. I stopped shopping there after they had that hacking incident a year ago, where hackers supposedly hacked into their credit card machines and stole people’s money or got their account information. They have never changed their credit card readers since then and don’t have any plans to and they wonder why their business is going downhill even more.

Corporate fools just don’t get it. People don’t want more invasion of their privacy, they want less, yet they still do it anyways, expecting a different result because all they want to do is own you. Insanity abounds!

  4. Fu@k with them and only carry cash into the store
Leave all your stuff that has anything they can scan
    Go dark
