(See Bee) Salon is at it again. The same Salon that gave us “Meet pedophiles that mean well”, has now supplied a platform for an admitted pervert, “I’m a pedophile but not a monster”.
It’s a “please don’t hate on me”piece because he can’t help his “sexual orientation” and “sexuality”. He and his fellow “Virtuous Pedophiles” would never act on their proclivities, no they use their “pedo powers” for good. ( You can’t make this stuff up !) Readers you may use your imagination for what a pedo power might be. As I read his “sad “tale of physical deformity, feelings of inadequacy, alienation and insecurity I remembered a truly sad story on my own.
Several years ago when my youngest were still in school we were driving home on a miserable, grey afternoon. Their school was in the city and as we drove down the main street on our way out of town I saw something that compelled me to drive around the block. Two kids, a girl about 8 and a boy a few years younger were walking down the street holding hands each carrying a plastic shopping bag. This was Michigan, late afternoon in January and it was cold. The girl was wearing what could be called at best a “jacket” defiantly not a winter coat. She had on tennis shoes, no hat or gloves. The boy had a better coat on but still no boots, hat or gloves. I’m not going to speculate on the circumstances that led to this scene but what angered me then was my complete inability to help these children.
As I continued to circle the block I ran different scenarios through my mind. I could stop and offer them the hat and gloves my kids had worn to school but no they shouldn’t talk to me I’m a stanger. I could offer them a ride home but if they shouldn’t talk to me they certainly shouldn’t get in my car. The last time I circled the block the kids were gone , I hoped safely home. We drove home with my girls in the back seat asking why I didn’t help which brings me to why I was so upset reading this story in Salon.
We live in a world where evil , sick people prey on children. That is a fact. What is also a fact is it is not normal to look at children as objects of sexual desire. It is a sickness of the mind, soul or heart. A sickness that needs to be treated. The American Psychiatric Association has decided that those who desire to have sex with children but whose desires are not distressing or harmful “are no longer classified as having a psychiatric condition”. Pedophilies are now being refered to as “minor attracted persons” and having “ intergenerational attractions” . The Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality list “basic sexual rights” as the right to engage in sexual acts of any kind whatsoever, to be free of societal intervention, and no one should be disadvantaged because of age.
“Disadvantaged because of age”, as the children’s rights movement allows kids at increasingly younger ages to make their own decisions regarding health care and lifestyle choices this plays right into the hands (literally) of those that would prey on them. Toy Soldiers article on Salons story states they “took Salons publishing of this article as an attempt to normalize “pedophilia as just another orientation”, and that Salon is “not beyond pushing misguided agendas for the sake of the politically correct concept of diversity”. A search of the web turns up several apologetic articles from “It’s not a crime” to” It’s not a mental disorder”. Could this be the next civil rights movement? Understanding and support leads to exceptence, normalizing and finally inpowerment. No, you say, never going to happen. Just think over the last few years. Gender is “fluid”. “Marriage” is whatever the Supreme Court says it is. Sister Wives is just one big happy family. Welcome to the new normal. It’s coming, as sure as Bruce Jenner graced the cover of Vanity Fair in a corset, it’s coming.
