SWAT Team Drill Catches Students Off Guard At Silver Lake Schools

KINGSTON (CBS) – The single digital snapshot, taken by a studentcowering in the dark, looks more ominous than it really is.

Last week, more than two dozen SWAT team members descended on Silver Lake Regional Middle and High Schools.

Their weapons were drawn, but not loaded. They ran through the building, simulating their approach to a scenario in which a shooter or shooters were also inside.

It’s called a “Code Yellow” and is meant to be a drill that prepares teachers and students for an unthinkable – but possible – reality.

“We’re looking for it to be as realistic as possible,” explains Silver Laker Superintendent of Schools John Tuffy. “The doors are locked, the lights are turned off, and the students are asked to go to a safe place in the room, an area where you can’t be seen through a window or a door.”

Such drills have been going on for years, but in apost-Sandy Hookeducational environment, they have taken on a chilling importance.

“They came in with guns; it was sort of scary I guess,” explains Silver Lake eleventh-grader Nick Dwyer. He says in his room, “everyone in the class just dropped to the ground” and largely remained calm though the 30-minute exercise. It was only after it was complete, though, that everyone knew for sure it was only a drill.

Notes from the school went home to moms and dads that day; some called to complain immediately. Angry parents said their children were distressed by the experience. But most, according to school administrators, seem accept this is something that just has to happen.

“It’s sad but in another essence it’s good though, because you never know what’s going to happen,” said Silver Lake parent Wayne Reissfelder.

“I think it just gives the kids a better idea of where they have to go when and if that ever happens,” offered Pam Malley, whose daughter goes to Silver Lake. “They need to do that in this day and age, which is sad.”

State sponsored child abuse, pure and simple, conducted for political purposes.
“It was only after it was complete, though, that everyone knew for sure it was only a drill.”
I’d like to see one of these drills go live when one of the un-informed involuntary participants carrying concealed goes “live” and takes out a goon or two.

    Endeavor to restore the Republic!

More tenderizing of the juvenile flesh before it is ingested wholesale by the soulless Talmudic Hydra. It cares not for the nearly dying or ready to die downtrodden masses who have already coughed up their life forces and now simply mill about the slaughter pens with the work houses bordering the north ends and the ramshackle escape-hovels bordering the south, counting the hours of nonexistence that daily fill the treks from north to south. The Talmudic Hydra much prefers the exuberant zeal of youth, so much more palatable when the horrified screams of innocence rush with frothy enthusiasm headlong into the toxic salivation of the beady-eyed, comb-over carrion-feeder.

BAHAHAAHAHAHA!!!! They just gotta keep reminding everyone of that Sandy Hoax thing. Are we going to celebrate it every year now for the next 10-15 years like we have been doing 9/11? I mean come on. It wasn’t even real. Give it a rest, already. Stop looking for lame excuses like this to justify martial law tactics. It’s really pathetic.

Yea, right. I’m sure most of the parents accepted that. Do they really think we were born yesterday? Of course the school administrators would say that. They are just following orders from the federal government and hope that the government will give them another yearly bonus to keep the school going. Who cares about the kids or the parents reactions. It means nothing.

Anyone that would allow their child to be in one of these institutions is seriously lacking any common sense or wisdom. It’s just so much easier to turn their child over to the state for eight hours a day. The parents of this nation should be ashamed of themselves.

If that isn`t child abuse and brain washing what is. they are just trying to condition them kids and teachers for the inevitable. Yea, sounds like they are useing fear to install in these kids way of thinking. Real good role models aren`t they. I would be realy P.O.ed if this happened to my kids!!!

One more excellent argument for homeschooling.
