Syria Conflict: U.S. Announces $30 Million Additional Aid

Huffington Post – by ROD McGUIRK

PERTH, Australia — U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Wednesday that the U.S. will provide an additional $30 million in humanitarian aid to Syria, bringing the total U.S aid to the war-torn nation to $200 million.

Clinton made the announcement in Western Australia, where she is attending an annual summit with U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and their Australian counterparts.

On Tuesday, France became the first Western country to formally recognize Syria’s newly formed opposition coalition as the sole legitimate representative of the Syrian people. The U.S. also recognized the leadership body as a legitimate representative, but stopped short of describing it as a sole representative.

Syria’s opposition had been deeply divided for months despite the relentless bloodshed and repeated calls from Western and Arab supporters to create a cohesive and representative leadership that could present a single conduit for foreign aid. The formation of the coalition, after more than a week of meetings in the Qatari capital of Doha, could boost efforts to secure international backing – and possibly weapons – that will be needed to oust President Bashar Assad.

Clinton was asked Wednesday whether there was any way the U.S. would follow France and recognize the opposition as sole representatives and perhaps provide lethal aid.

“We have long called for this kind of organization,” Clinton said. “The United States was deeply involved in the work that went on leading up to and at Doha. Now we want to see that momentum maintained. Specifically, we urge them to finalize the organizational arrangements to support the commitments that they made in Doha and to begin influencing events on the ground in Syria.”

“As the Syrian opposition takes these steps and demonstrates its effectiveness in advancing the cause of a unified, democratic, pluralistic Syria, we will be prepared to work with them to deliver assistance to the Syrian people,” she said.

Is she NOT testifying in today’s “closed door” investigation? Closed door … guess the public will never know what happened now. I think we the people should have access to the truth since we pay them to work for us. Without us …. they wouldn’t survive.

No shit, you said it. Who the hell started these “closed door” policies? Cowards? They should be banned and should have never started in the first place. I wish I could have a closed door testimony if I did something. Instead, I get the MSM on my ass and a courtroom with a judge and lawyers yelling at me in my face. WTF!!??

When is this woman gonna choke on an acorn? It amazes me how they haven’t even celebrated their win or anything and just two days after the election, they just drove out of the country to continue their agenda as if there was never an election or it was just a PR thing that they had to get out of the way quickly. Unbelievable! No respect or thanks to the people that voted for them (the very few that did I mean) and no respect for the Hurricane Sandy people as if they threw them under the bus (which they did). They don’t give two shits about our country and played the people and the political reality show like we were children and the children (aka sheeple) ate it right up. What is wrong with the sheeple? WAKE THE F**K UP!!! What is wrong with the military? WAKE THE F**K UP!!! Take back our country, dammit! The bastards are all out of the country, so close the doors and don’t let them back in. It’s so easy. For the love of god, do your damn job, soldiers!!! Uphold the Constitution! The Constitution supersedes the orders of the president. NOT the other way around. Stop thinking that way. Whoever taught you otherwise should be charged with treason themselves. I’m so sick of military saying, “Well we have to follow the orders of the President or we will be court-martialed”. Are you F**KING KIDDING ME??? The Constitution says that you need to faithfully uphold it and then follow the orders of the president. Notice which one is first. The Constitution SUPERSEDES any man or president in power, especially one who goes against it and displays treason on so many levels.

WAKE UP, SOLDIERS!!!! DO YOUR DUTY TO YOUR COUNTRY AND TRY THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION AND ALL THAT FOLLOW HIM FOR TREASON!!! Every order they make is an unlawful order under the Constitution and is null and void.

You soldiers are suppose to protect the American people from enemies both foreign and domestic. You know who they are, so don’t act like you don’t!!

When are you fools going to get it through your head? ARREST THE BASTARDS!!! I’m so sick of this shit. If you guys don’t do something, you should all be ashamed of ever wearing that uniform and don’t deserve to have the flag flying anywhere near you or draped over your coffin after you die in combat for these unjust wars.

It’s time to start acting like men and not like cowards. GROW UP!!! IT’S WHAT YOU’VE BEEN TRAINED FOR!! DO YOUR DAMN DUTY, FOR CRYIN’ OUT LOUD!!!!
