Syria escalation(Israel vs Russia): Russia to send in advanced missiles to deter foreign intervention; Israel threatens to strike shipment

The Syria crisis appears to be entering a new phase of deadly maneuvering with fast-paced events between Monday and Tuesday (today).

On Monday, May 27, the European Union lifted an embargo on arming Syrian rebels, allowing member nations to go ahead to provide the arms as they deem fit.

On Tuesday, Russia announced it will ship in even more deadly weapons to Syria: specifically the state-of-the-art S-300 air defence missiles which can take down any aircraft. Russia said the move will deter some “hothead” foreign countries from intervening in Syria.

Tuesday, Israel, which has long warned about dangerous missiles falling from Syria to Lebanese militant group, Hezbollah, declared in a rare, implicit threat to Russia, that it will strike such shipments from Russia to Syria.

Russian deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov:

“We understand the concerns and signals sent to us from different capitals. We realize that many of our partners are concerned about the issue,” Ryabkov said. “We have no reason to revise our stance.”

“We believe that such steps to a large extent help restrain some ‘hotheads’ considering a scenario to give an international dimension to this conflict,” he said.

Israeli defence minister Moshe Yaalon:

“As far as we are concerned, that is a threat,” Yaalon told reporters when asked about the S300s.

“At this stage I can’t say there is an escalation. The shipments have not been sent on their way yet. And I hope that they will not be sent,” he said. But “if God forbid they do reach Syria, we will know what to do.

The S-300s missiles can reach up to 200 kilometers (125 miles) and has the capability to track and strike multiple targets simultaneously.

  1. I certainly hope Yaalon is simply issuing the standard Israeli blather and hot air. Does he think Putin will stand by while Russians are harmed in another unprovoked Israeli attack? It seems to me the Russians have sent clear and consistant signals of their intent. So either Mr. Yaalon is consumed by hubris, or he is convinced Israel can kill Russians with the impunity they kill helpless Palestinian women and children. Perhaps this will be the Israeli instigated war we sit out. Is Obama willing to risk a nuclear exchange with Russia? If Israel wants to slap the Bear, let Israel face the angry Bear alone. Enough American blood has been spilled because of that bloodthirsty little Rothschild created outlaw entity.

    1. Israhell needs to go.its been a cancer on the ass of the world since day one. Putin just might be the man for the job too! My guess is that if they kill Russians he will kill them back.just a hunch.

      1. I hope you realize that should that happen, American troops will be sent in as cannon fodder for Israhell. Exactly according to the NWO script.

  2. Only Israel would call anti-aircraft missiles “a threat” as they bomb Syria at will with bombs that border on nuclear in power.

  3. Dear Russians,

Please nuke that little crap hole of the known universe.. and do the planet a favour..

    Yours sincerely
