The latest from KGB Mike Lawlor? Nothing new in the collectivist propaganda universe. Seems like I’ve seen that logo somewhere before.

CT citizen disarmament weenies are all aflutter over the latest effort at collectivist propaganda: Connecticut Governor Applauds Anti-Gun Sculpture Made From Shredded Firearms

But you know what? As an ex-communist, that shaking hands logo looked pretty familiar to me. Here’s the one made famous by the Sozialistische Einheitspartei Deutschlands, which Wikipedia tells us:

The Socialist Unity Party of Germany (German: Sozialistische Einheitspartei Deutschlands, SED) was the governing Marxist–Leninist political party of the German Democratic Republic from its formation in 1946 until it was dissolved after the Peaceful Revolution in 1989.

So, there’s apparently nothing new in the collectivist propaganda universe. I wonder if Malloy’s anti-gun czar KGB Mike Lawlor had any input on the design?

The irony of this is delicious. Using the logo of the communist party that made the name Stasi feared throughout Europe. It really was the communist equivalent of the Gestapo. Oh, yeah. Delicious and oh so fitting.

LATER: And a reader prompts me to recall this Newsweek cover —
