TTAG: “Illinois Bill to Ban All Modern Firearms”

john cullertonThe Real Revo

Here comes the start of the revolution. Cullerton seems mighty sure that he can get the Illinois legislature to sign off on this.

Breaking news:

Press release:

“The ISRA has learned from a credible source that Illinois Senate President John Cullerton [above] will introduce a so called ‘assault weapons’ ban on Wednesday when the legislature returns for its ‘lame duck’ session. Cullerton hopes to ramrod the bill through and get it to Governor Quinn for signature by Friday. If he is successful at doing so, nearly every gun you currently own will be banned and will be subject to confiscation by the Illinois State Police . . .

“Based on what we know about Cullerton’s bill, firearms that would be banned include all semiautomatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns. Pump action shotguns would be banned as well. This would be a very comprehensive ban that would include not only so-called ‘assault weapons’ but also such classics as M1 Garands and 1911-based pistols. There would be no exemptions and no grandfathering. You would have a very short window to turn in your guns to the State Police to avoid prosecution.”

  1. Patrick Conway says:

Could this be where it begins? Or, has that whole state been totally sheepleized (I know it’s not a word but I couldn’t think of a better adjective.)?

  2. Mr. Wawker says:

This is not a law that can be followed.
The law is illegal and it is unconstitutional. On its face.
Anyone who attempts to/enforces this law is in violation of 42 U.S.C. 1983 and should be sued for all of their personal assets.

    • CXJ says:

Mr Wawker may I remind you that the communist Illinois legislators don’t give a hoot about the Constitution or the Bill of Rights.

With that said what happened 250 years ago is irrelevant to these treasonous and seditious legislators. What is relevant to these liars, thieves and murderers is the power of the will of a patriot and his/her ability to enforce their liberty.

Forget the Rule of Law. Do you really think for a moment that some judge in Illinois is going to side with the Constitution or BofRs? The judge will side with the one with the most power. He just hasn’t figured out the power of the patriot just quite yet. There is no justice in America unless you are viewing justice from a communist’s point of view. “The goal justifies the means is a communist’s idea of justice!” The patriots could learn a few things from the communists…

Who defines “Modern Weapons?” How far back is modern determined?

Let me take a wild guess!…………….

Cop: “Hey you! Caveman freeze! Drop the fu_cking CLUB! Now!!!
Put your fu_cking hands in the air! Down on your knees you
      hairy bast_rd!!!!”

Caveman: Turns and stares at the cop for a second and thinks to himself, “Hmmm, him nice and fat, soft, no hair, no scales, no fangs, and all pink.”

      Caveman: Smiles at cop.

      • Drutch says:

What is relevant is that traitorous bastards who make unconstitutional and tyrancial “laws” at the state and local levels are even less untouchable than their federal counter-parts. Should they choose to go to war with the people, the people know where they live and can easily overwhelm them militarily. Their small security detail will flee in an instant. These crap bags should be arrested under sedition laws for attempting to declare war on the people of their state.

  3. Joe says:

Well, if this is for real, I’m wondering how well such a wholesale confiscation will work out.

Both sides will be watching this develop very very closely, watching, and planning their next move, I expect.

I wonder, did the states draw straws to see who needed to be the first to do outright wholesale confiscation?

Also, like the other fellow said, it’s hard to imagine the US Supreme Court upholding such a move.

    Fascinating stuff!

  4. D says:

Even if the people’s republic of Chicago/IL could pull this off, that in no way means that it could be done in Florida (now the highest number of concealed carry permits in the US with over 1 million) or Texas, along with about 12 other states.
    This is getting fun!
This is like my soap opera, I can’t wait to see where this goes next, yet I have no fear since I already know that I shall NEVER disarm to ANY bureaucrat, cop or king.

  5. CXJ says:

Joe, Jefferson and Madison both stated that the final decision rests with the people. They are the supreme court. If any law disparages or attempts to abolish any liberties natural to man the people are not obligated to obey such law. As a further note Jefferson said the people are to disobey such a law. Conclusion: The people are the final court. NO FEAR HERE!!!!

  6. NC says:

How convenient that this happens to be started in Illinois, the gun control/gun crime hotbed capital of the country.

    • TranceAm says:

Well, they already have experience with hiding guns from authorities.

The only result will be that the amount of criminals will go up.
And a lot of that cheap work done in Chinese slave labour plants can be done by Private Prison Labourers in Illinois.

I wonder if these are them higher paying jobs they would bring back. 😉 I think the benefits stink.

    Drutch…good points!
