Verizon is launching their new “Verizon Selects” initiative in which they will send targeted ads to mobile users. Annie explains how their targeted advertising goes even further- the company recently filed a patent for technology to monitor your living room activities though your DVR. Creepy, or inevitable?

This sucks.
My phone AND computer are both Verizon.
Can’t beat 4G, though.
I just added Verizon to my boycott list, but it doesn’t matter. Most Americans will just accept that Verizon can now watch them have sex on the couch rather than try to break their TV addiction.
They know their cell phone are spying on them, and they won’t give up that device either. What they will do is just accept that they’re always being watched, and sacrifice their privacy rather than part with one of their gadgets.
Maybe that’s the plan. Once they accept that they’re always being watched anyway, why not allow the government to install a camera in every room?
As long as the TV keeps telling them they live in the “Land of the Free”, they’ll keep believing it.
