What Guns? What Gold? Prepper Tips On “Hiding Your Guns in Plain Sight”

SHTF Plan – by Mac Slavo

There are endless places and ways to conceal, hide and stash your guns and other precious items.

Who knows when the time would actually come when some jack-booted thug would beat down your door and search for your constitutionally-mandated firearms – but with Obama’s gun control and many possible scenarios for martial law and a crackdown on patriots, it could really happen.

And it may be time to think about the possibilities, if you haven’t already.

Really, it should be part of your prepping plans already.

But in case the thought has never crossed your mind, or you need to beef up your plans and devices, here are some examples.

These videos have some clever ideas about where to hide your guns, precious metals, heirlooms and emergency supplies.

If in doubt, take the idea, and change it, recombine it, rethink it – and make it an original secret location(s) that only you will know about.

Many of these concealment concepts are not only good for hiding guns and prepping supplies, but – at least in the case of the false bookshelf – offer the opportunity to conceal a panic room hidden in plain sight.

If the plan works, burglars, assailants and even police won’t discover your hiding place.

The tricky part is that guns, in particular, are best hidden in a place where they can also be quickly and safely accessed when needed.

Sometimes the usual hiding places just aren’t good enough.

This viral video explains how you can install “tactical walls” where your firearms can be hidden away from prying eyes, as well as children and vulnerable family members, while offering instant access.

A secure magnet “key” unlocks it from a special spot, and is the only way to access this fantastic device:

Beyond your immediate household, it is a good idea, when possible, to cache your firearms and other critical supplies in a remote and hidden place.

The purpose here is to evade “the biggest gang” unit in the government – if/when they come for the guns:

You Tuber “TheHossUSMC” explains the wisdom behind diversifying the cache locations of your weapons, so that those seizing guns can’t get them all, but may be satisfied with confiscating a few easily found, registered guns.

The rest can be deposited in your other locations, and you can live to fight another day, and engage the tyranny from a better position. Here is some advice on the process of hiding and recovering your remote weapons cache.

The questions surrounding when and how to fight back, and when to hide are complex, and ultimately each individual must use their best judgement and moral positions to make those difficult decisions.

The point is to prepare for even the worst situations, and make sure that you never have to face a situation where you are disarmed, or unable to access your God-given self-defenses.

Any other good ideas about how to hide, conceal and distribute your preps? Please share, but don’t give away any personal or specific information.

  1. Seems to me that the gov. monitors all these sites and has a fair idea about where you might try to hide your weapons. If they find them, which they probably will, they will no doubt shoot you on the spot. Beat them to the punch and go down fighting, taking as many as you can with you. It is always a good day to die.

    1. AMEN, Farmer Dave.

While we shouldn’t throw away our lives, each of us needs to be psychologically prepared to die. Failure to maintain this state of mind will cause people to panic and surrender when the jackboots start their purge.

To maintain the proper mindset, I find it helpful to focus on a few things:

      1. How evil, disgusting, and cowardly the jackboots are. We all know this well. Think back to all the videos we’ve seen, all the corruption uncovered, all the smug arrogance.

      2. The satisfaction of giving one or more of them what they deserve.

      3. I don’t lose the fight if they kill me. I only lose if I fail to take one or more of them with me due to lack of preparation and/or practice.

      4. I’ll be fighting for what I believe in. That’s worth risking or giving my life, since it’s just that important to ME. The pigs will be risking life and limb for what some dirtbag politicians believe in, motivated primarily by a paycheck. (Would they try to round up people for free? Doubtful.)

      5. Death WILL eventually get me sooner or later, so it makes no sense to base my actions solely on the desire to avoid death.

      6. Death from bullets is likely to be quicker and less miserable than many of the ways we might otherwise die naturally.

    2. There’s one other point I forgot to include in my already long-winded post. If everyone resists the fedcoat onslaught while it’s in full swing, it will make the chances of success much greater.

First, a massive, simultaneous pushback by gun owners would put a much greater strain on fedcoat resources than a resistance spread out over a longer time. The jackboots are capable of handling the individual or small group that pops up every so often. They will not be capable of handling all those individuals and small groups popping up at once, which is what a mass grab of guns/dissidents SHOULD precipitate.

There’s also the question of public perception. Rightly or wrongly, the masses will tend to view a large resistance movement as having greater legitimacy than a long series of minor acts of defiance spread out randomly over time. The latter may even be (incorrectly) perceived as wrongful aggression, since the impetus for resistance will have presumably died down by the time people are digging up their guns.

In short, timing is important. A ten-pound cannon ball hitting a massive brick wall at 1300 fps will do a lot more damage than ten pounds of tiny pellets fired at the wall a few at a time, even at the same velocity.

  2. Read the Turner Diaries to learn how the government people will search for gold and weapons. Bury your stash by a pipeline or in a water tight container underwater.

    1. If it comes down to that, you shoot the “government people” infringing upon your Bill of Rights. Bury weapons? You may as well not have them.

I could agree with an ammo stash, however.

      1. It couldn’t hurt to have spare weapons, ammo, and supplies hidden in strategic places. In fact, that’s a good idea. Such caches can be used to continue a fight, travel on foot more lightly, etc.

Having cached weapons should NOT be considered an excuse for backing down, even temporarily, when the jackboots start going door-to-door.

People do need to be aware of the technology that exists to find buried items: ground-penetrating radar, thermal imaging, etc. Burial under a tree, underwater in a creek, etc., are probably safe from most of these. But
observation by satellite, drone, or other means during the actual caching or retrieval is also something to be wary of.

  3. If the jackboots actually start going around confiscating everyone’s weapons, then THAT is the time to fight — not at some undefined later time. But nearly everyone will have advance warning of such an event, so there will be no need to just wait at home for the pigs to show up at your door. What you do is go out and meet with others with whom you’ve made contingency plans for such an event. Then you and your group go and do some damage.

What does hiding weapons accomplish? If someone won’t use his weapons while the jackboots are going door to door, when WILL he ever use them? Why would he think the fight will be any easier after he digs up his weapons than it would have been if he’d just gone and used them to begin with?

Most of those who tell themselves they’ll hide their weapons and then retrieve them after the big gun grab are, I suspect, in denial of their own unwillingness to fight. They like the idea of keeping guns to defend against tyranny, but they don’t want to ever have to USE those guns. They want to have their cake and eat it too, but that’s not possible. We have ONLY those rights that we are willing to boldly and recklessly defend with force if necessary, even to the death. No one who is afraid to risk his life can ever have freedom — and that’s especially pathetic when you ponder the fact that each of has to die eventually no matter what choices we make.

  4. While I think it prudent to bury some guns, ammo and valuables, I agree with Farmer Dave; go down fighting right from jump street. I have preached for years that the jack booted thugs, are not coming for the guns, they are coming for you. Once they have you, your cache is meaningless.

    1. SWIFT, you make a crucial point that bears repeating to anyone who thinks he’ll just bury his guns and live to fight another day. Yes indeed — when they come it will be for US, not for our guns.

The fedcoats may not be able to find every hidden weapon, but it’s easier to find people, and they KNOW who the potential troublemakers are. Anyone who has ever posted on a site like this one, or has otherwise expressed a hardcore libertarian mindset on the Web, is almost certainly on a list — perhaps the “MAINCORE” database that some have written about. Snowden showed us how extensive surveillance of the Web has been, and we know that massive computers are capable of storing and analyzing nearly everything we do on the Web. It would be foolish for any of us to think he hasn’t been “flagged.”

  5. “How we burned in the prison camps later thinking: what would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if during periods of mass arrests people had simply not sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand. … The Organs [police] would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers … and notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt.” — Alexander Solzhenitsyn (1918-2008) Russian novelist, Soviet dissident, imprisoned for 8 years for criticizing Stalin in a personal letter, Nobel Prize for Literature, 1970

  6. SHOOT EARLY
    SHOOT OFTEN

Don’t wait for them to get to YOUR house.
Shoot them in the back and sides while they are advancing on the neighbor 2 or 5 doors down house.
Falling back should be part of the plan so dont wait till they are in your bedroom to start fighting.

Position shotguns around corners and rifles behind hollow walls. Let them give chase after half your team drops as many as possible before they can return fire. Then the rest of your teem is already in position so your retreat can be covered and the primary force can cover flanks as needed.

If you do it right, you will take them around the block, kill them all and not need to walk too far to get home with all their gear.

    1. I really like the comment about not walking far when you take all their stuff. Fits right in with the rest of my plans.

  7. I had to get out of a major metro city.
Cause I don’t want to have to fight house to house.
Get the fck out of any metro cities.
Anyone there will be in a world of sht.
    They’ll all be on lockdown.
    Prepare and plan.
Once they block the roads you better have a plan.

  8. Hide My Guns…..?
What the hell would I want to do that for?
When they come for your sh!t, shoot em.
Hell, I’m of the belief that we should have started shooting a while ago.
Other people have told me to calm down.
Which is why I don’t like people very much. I’m not a joiner. Groups are made up of members and members are almost always people. About the only people I trust are right here…From The Trenches.
And I don’t think anyone From The Trenches would tell me to hide my guns…unless it’s a strategic thing.
