TALLAHASSEE — Shocking video evidence shows how Tallahassee police officers used an unprovoked act of violence against a woman they were arresting for driving under the influence.  In front of their own dashboard camera, without any legitimate provocation, two officers drilled a woman face-first into the road, then knelt on her head, causing startling physical trauma.

In the early hours of August 10, Tallahassee police arrived at the scene of an alcohol-related accident.  The suspect, 44-year-old Christina West, was put through field-sobriety testing and determined to be intoxicated.

During the arrest, the inebriated woman flailed her arm as the officer attempted to handcuff her.

“DON’T YOU F***ING TOUCH ME,” Officer Chris Ormerod roared.

The officers are then seen forcefully slamming the 5′-6″, 130 pound woman face-first to the hard ground, followed by a giving her a gratuitous knee to the back of her head, exacerbating her facial trauma.

She can be heard screaming in pain as she is being pressed into the road by two male assailants.  Officer Ormerod continued to press her face into the ground with his arm.

West was arrested on a charge of DUI and several counts of battery on a law-enforcement officer, according to Tallahassee.com.

Florida State Attorney Willie Meggs said he was shocked by brutality of the officers, and will not prosecute West for battery on a police officer.

“I am extremely upset,” he said in an interview with the Tallahassee Democrat. “It is very disturbing. This is a very disturbing situation to me, and I’m dealing with it.”

“The video was taken from the police car and shows the road side sobriety test as well as the arrest of the subject,” City Commissioner Scott Maddox wrote to city officials. “It also shows DISTURBING use of force against a completely non aggressive arrestee. It is my belief that the city of Tallahassee will soon face a liability lawsuit based on the content of the video.”

After being hospitalized, West was determined to have suffered a broken orbital bone, a swollen eye, bloody nose and cuts to her arms and legs.

Arresting Officer Chris Ormerod excluded details from his written statement, according toTallahassee.com.  Ormerod wrote that West was “placed on the ground” after resisting being put in handcuffs.  He omitted the part where she was bent over his vehicle and then body-slammed to the road, followed by a crushing knee to the head.

Tallahassee Police Chief Dennis Jones has opened an investigation.  No comment on the future employment of the officers.

The video speaks for itself.  The use of force was brutal and unnecessary.  TPD needs to purge its ranks of officers who commit such unprovoked assaults.  Instead of charging West with battery, it would be more appropriate to charge Officer Chris Ormerod.

  1. “America is at that awkward stage. It’s too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.” – Claire Wolfe

  2. I’m confused as to how it completely went from peaceful to throwing her on the ground at around the 8:30 mark. Just because she touched him? Seriously? Maybe the officer likes to be touched by guys.

    1. NC
here’s the thing about most cops
they themselves, come up to an incident enraged……….just that they have to be there. when in fact they are hired to be a public servant ….
They are taught incorrectly by people who are incorrectly in that position of teaching………who themselves….do not understand….the roll of a public employee being a public servant and how that newly hired public servant may achieve the betterment of the community they serve………..
these idiots we see doing all this garbage of so called….law enforcement…are actually taught to do that,…………yea taught to do it!
When in fact, those behaviors have the opposite effect on the public which is desiring to be accomplished. you get the most dumbest stupidest people in law enforcement i have ever witnessed in a group of gathering individuals…and generally, the dumbest also of so called pros, leading the charge, say chief of police and so forth,,,,
Here’s the simple of law enforcement..as a peace officer..be a good neighbor, friend type of person, give a drunk a ride home instead of arrest and so forth and you know what…..pretty soon the local populace is policing themselves…no more school shootings and so forth…..thats what it was in the last generation and all those generations before in our US of A…..there was no 25…% of world prisoners being right here in the US of A….as now just a sad thing for all of us……right now
there is no substitute for love….just doesn’t exist…

  3. 5’6″? 130 lbs.? We’re talking about a tiny little girl here.

Will someone in Tallahassee please make sure they record the names and addresses of the two “men” who beat up this poor little girl?

I don’t expect our present “justice” system to deal with this in any fair or honest way, so we have to make sure this goes to a “higher court” after we take our country back.

    1. Yes Jolly Roger, I agree. Every time a public servant like a cop etc. does anything like this they should have their names and addresses posted in as many places as possible like grocery stores, laundromates, telephones poles, any place. Yep and if possible put down as much info on the cop/public servant like a picture, if he has a family, where he goes, yes every little tidbit of info and expose those POS to as many people as possible.

  4. What cowards these little boys are.
From what I gathered from this video it looks to be training for one of the officers on dui procedures that tuned into conspiracy to hide evidence and or its destruction while committing felony assault possibly attempted murder.

The individual who’s house this happened in front of should have opened up the window and shot from cover.
When you build your home take into consideration measurements for resistant type sheet rock like they use in banks federal buildings and on the bench for judges.
Some are capable of resisting .50 cal shots.
These punks aren’t carrying that yet, but just give it time.

      1. Huh?
I have been lucky as there are several people in my early development years that brought things to my attention. Of course my parents but others included but not limited to one of my fathers brother who is also a Veteran like my father and myself the other was an older cousin who is no longer with us.
Both of these Men were instrumental in guiding me in a direction that brings me to where I am today. Always asking questions as to why things work the way they do and discovering answers most would shun as lies or propaganda when the facts are right there in our faces.

Some of my neighbors were heebegeebees(I call them this because that’s what they give me) and there is no way in convincing them one bit. That is another reason I got out of that death trap of nyc.
There are others who were not heebegeebees but they were so brainwashed it is impossible to get through to them. The guy on the corner where I use to live is a heebegeebee and we had some water issues in our basement. I come to discover after going up on the roof with my father and the heebiegeebee watching down below that there was a large handball in his downspout causing the water to run down the side of the buildings instead of going out his sewage drain as the law states should happen. Well after I helped him open up the roof hatch on his property he came up took a look around and proceeded to head back inside his property. The words that came out of his mouth could not be clearer as he spoke to someone down the hatch “I don’t think that’s the problem”. Within days of the next heavy rain the water was no longer an issue. Not the problem sure that’s why the water isn’t going down into my basement any longer because I fixed it for you ya dam ?}+&^%#$%. I should have sent him a bill for my labor and if he didn’t pay proceed to place a mechanics lean on the property so if and when he ever decided to sell or his family to sell they would have to satisfy the lean first by law. But as I am not a person to do something like that I left it alone until something else came up……. but that is another story.

        1. That’s an apt description of where we’re at as a society…..

“after I helped him open up the roof hatch on his property he came up took a look around and proceeded to head back inside his property. The words that came out of his mouth could not be clearer as he spoke to someone down the hatch “I don’t think that’s the problem”.”

Can’t be bothered with actually investigating an issue, but is certain, “That’s not the problem.”

It’s time for a lot of folks to be left to their lessons.
