Disobedience Is The True Foundation of Liberty

A whole generation was silenced with the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King. Kent State served to warn college students what happens when you exercise your first amendment rights. And now another generation is being silenced with the “war on terror” and the ridiculous definition of what constitutes a terrorist.

A middle school principal in George has suspended a group of students for “terrorism” because they were planning a day of civil disobedience to protest the school dress code.  

Labeling anyone as a “terrorist” is serious charge that has vasts implications due to Section 1031 of the 2012 NDAA.

Americans have been “terrorized” by their own government into being law abiding citizens that will not voice dissent. The problem is that the laws being passed continue to trample the U.S. Constitution and thus render us as slaves to the ruling elites. The oligarchy has turned our local law enforcement into military under the control of Homeland Security.

The American people are watched 24/7 and are petrified to stand up to their own government who has usurped its position of “public servant” and become the “master” oppressor.

People are literally afraid to even put their signatures on a petition not to go to war with Iraq. Representative Alan Grayson published an online petition on June 15th to tell Congress that we do not want to send our troops to die in the desert of Iraq. He simply requested 25,000 signatures. Here we are five weeks later and we still have not reached the goal.

In the 2012 election we had over 180 million registered voters, with over 11 million voters from Representative Grayson’s home state of Florida and we can’t get 25,000 signatures to stop the war in Iraq! What a sad documentary for Americans.

This country just celebrated 238 years of independence from a monarchy that imposed taxation without representation. Americans lined the streets waving flags, singing “God Bless America,” believing in the myth of American exceptionalism all the while ignoring what has been and is continuing to happen to their textbook “freedoms.”

When an American voter is afraid to sign an anti-war petition for fear of being continually under surveillance and then being labeled a “terrorist” what kind of “independence” is that? Is there really any difference between prior to the American Revolution and now when our taxes continue to be used to fund the expanding military industrial complex at the expense of cutting social services to our own disadvantaged.

profitIt is very clear to those who are willing to remove their media induced blinders that our government no longer “represents” we the people. They serve themselves and their corporate 1% whore masters. They serve the billionaires that wish to gut our social security system, who wish to repeal minimum wage and the safety regulations that were put in place to raise Americans out of the pre-World War II squalor. They care less about caring for our planet that sustains all life as we know it.

Our current administration is full of ex-Wall Street thieves, financial con men and corporate executives from transnational corporations that ship our jobs oversees to create sweatshops so we can in turn purchase foreign made goods at outlets like Walmart that pay wages so low that workers have to receive government subsidies to lift them above the poverty line while that same corporation pockets increasing annual profits approaching 120 BILLION dollars. The real questions that Americans have to ask ourselves is “Are we willing to risk our lives and property as did our founding fathers to withdraw from the tyranny of our corrupt government and once again declare our independence? Will we do what it takes to once again establish a government that acknowledges that “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness?”

An actual physical rebellion at this point in time would only result in blood in the streets, the massacre of those who are working for a government for and by “we the people,” and the establishment of national martial law. Our government has capabilities of destruction that far outweigh what could be done even if every man, woman or child were to participate in their second amendment right.

No, our power lies in implementing our first amendment right to “peaceably assemble, and to petition our Government for a redress of grievances.” Our power lies in signing the petitions that serve as ammunition when one of the white hats stands before Congress to truly represent us.

Our power lies in writing emails, making phone calls and visiting our elected “public servants” (not “elected officials) to express our political desires on how they vote as they represent us. Our power lies in being involved in the democratic process; running for elected office, physically supporting the campaigns of our neighbors that run for local, state and national positions of service, by showing up and voting into office candidates that refuse to accept special interest campaign financing.

The basic government structure of our country is sound. It is the people WE have elected and put into these positions that perpetuate the existing tyranny. Yes, we definitely need to tweak some of the foundational guidelines that support the framework to bring it into the twenty first century. That can be done once we break the corporate stranglehold on our government. This is the secret to our future. We must overturn the effects of Citizens Untied and the more recent McCutcheon ruling.

We must pass a 28th amendment that declares that corporations are NOT people and money is NOT speech. Are you as an American willing to help make this happen? We are not asking you to arm yourselves for a physical combat. We are asking you to lay aside your “fears” and to step into your power, to step into your rights as a citizen of the United States of America!

We are asking you to stand together, united and reclaim our republic.

We declare today, that we will use all peaceable means available to reclaim our republic from the special monied interests that are currently holding our government hostage. We will even engage in acts of civil disobedience if it is necessary in order to achieve re-establishing a government for and by “WE THE PEOPLE.”

In the words of Martin Luther King, “One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws.” The Women’s Suffrage Movement and the Civil Rights Movement served as inspiration for the words of American historian, author and activist Howard Zinn, “Protest beyond the law is not a departure from democracy; it is absolutely essential to it.” And in the words of Henry David Thoreau, “If the machine of government is such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law.”

    We have television ‘programming’ to thank for that.

The author assumes that voting and running for office actually still works and makes a difference in an age where Diebold machines and voter fraud run rampant and We the People can’t even see or count the ballots at our location. Remember last presidential election? How fast we forget. Are we to be stupid one more time?
