Fresno Bans Confederate Flag From City Property

Breitbart – by AWR Hawkins

On July 16 the Fresno City Council voted to ban the Confederate flag from ever flying over city-owned property.

According to The Fresno Bee, the council’s vote was 4-0 “vote with two abstentions and one member absent.”

The matter now goes to Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin, who is currently on vacation. Her communications director Mark Standriff responded to the vote by saying Swearengin “will not veto the council’s action.”

The ban does not stop private individuals or organizations from flying the Confederate flag in the city.

The Fresno City Council’s vote to ban the Confederate flag comes less than two weeks after the Memphis City Council voted to dig up the body of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest and to sell the city’s statue of him “to anyone who wants it.

Fresno’s vote also follows the New Orleans City Council’s vote declaring Confederate statues a “nuisance” and ordered them removed.

    1. They know EXACTLY what they’re doing. The stupid card doesn’t always buy your way out. It can actually be your ticket IN for admission for some things and in this case I’d say it is an all access pass for the defendant’s box. If they’re lucky. They’re still responsible either way.

  1. Once again, THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS “CITY PROPERTY”!!!! It’s Public Property, meaning they have no right to remove the flag. Period!

Enough with the Commie word games. 😡

    1. Unfortunately NC, ” legally ” there IS such a thing as City Property, which does not belong to those living within the fictitious boundaries of said city. A city may allow public access to various types of privately owned city property, but the public has no say with respect to what’s done with that property. And access may be revoked at any time. Why ? Because nearly every city in America is incorporated, ie a ” private for-profit corporation “. And as we all know, EVERY corporation owns property of various types and kinds. Sad but true, this is the truth.
