The Egyptian people rose up against their oppressive government and America was in full support. Then in Libya it went a step further as America stepped in to support the so called rebels, initiating a no-fly zone to stop the evil Gaddafi regime from using air power against those who wanted to oust him and establish a new government.
Now in Syria the United States is in full support of the Al Qaeda rebels endeavoring to free themselves from their oppressors. It is indeed a cry of indignation we are hearing as the US regime pushes for another no-fly zone to keep the brutal Assad government from using 21st century air power against the resisters, armed only with small pieces of field artillery and short range rockets.
Then on the other hand, we have the people of Palestine resisting a tyrannical government that has been ruthlessly ruling over them for 40 years and is now slaughtering them, using 21st century air power against a people armed only with small pieces of field artillery and short range rockets.
Oh, the hypocrisy. Where are the cries for a no-fly zone over Palestine and indeed the support for the Palestinians? I guess as far as supporting the underdog or the oppressed, it all comes down to who is doing the oppressing. The Israeli rule over Palestine is apartheid by definition. We all remember apartheid, don’t we? It was so wrong when the British were using it on the people of South Africa. It would seem that the rules for morality take on alternate definitions when Zionism is entered into the equation.
Bad for Assad to drop bombs on Al Qaeda in his country. Good for Netanyahu to drop bombs on the Palestinians.
32,000 have been killed in Syria, an international outrage that cannot be accepted by any civilized nation. 5 million Palestinians have been killed since their country was invaded in 1947 and praise be to God for the Holy Land.
When we are told that it is all right to slaughter one group of people while the same is totally unacceptable when applied to another, we are witnessing the ultimate attempt at thought control. In the final equation it is coming down to Zionists are always right when they kill and it is never right to kill a Zionist, even in self defense.
Fewer Americans are buying into the hypocrisy and are seeing Zionism for exactly what it is. It should be noted that with the onslaught of the latest attack on Gaza, the Palestinian military liaison who was murdered by the Israelis, was actually working with the Egyptian government and had all but eliminated the small rockets being fired into the Israeli occupied zones. Headway was being made towards a peaceful resolution.
It is the Israelis who will never allow peace in the Middle East as any such peace would establish borders and any further conquest would be judged for the aggression that it is.
If we in the United States want to stop the violence in the Middle East all we really have to do is cease and desist in supporting it. The Middle East has become like a forest wherein unnatural fire suppression has been implemented for far too long. Once the place goes up there is going to be a lot of years of refuse to fuel the flames.
No one likes to see people killing other people, but if we are not going to address Zionism for what it is and if it is truly our own interests we are looking out for, we will move to a position of neutrality and let the peoples of these foreign lands work out their differences amongst themselves.
May God help us to just mind our own business.
