John Hiatt – Dust Down A Country Road

Uploaded on May 4, 2009 by mbroders

Live (?) performance at a German gameshow. Animated introduction by the host, who is clearly a huge John Hiatt fan. Davey Faragher (now with Elvis Costello) on bass and vocals, and probably local musicians on mandolin and drums.

  1. enjoy this very much….
to me, it’s half country, half folk, with a little bit of diction into it. off the
    jazz lable……dust down a country road….and up……..well, before the rooster crows….
    nice post

    1. Thanks rbeason, John Hiatt is a true American treasure. A very prolific songwriter and a well-rounded signer and musician in his own right. He has written many, many songs for a multitude of well-known stars and has an impressive number of albums to his credit. He has a variety of styles, blues, country and jazz, to name a few. Glad you enjoyed.

  2. I echo these sentiments ……
This is one of my favorite Hiatt songs.
To add, this could also be his best album as well.
    A living legend.
