Judge found dead ‘from gunshot wound to the head’ in Texas courthouse in suspected suicide

Tragic: The body of District Judge Tom Greenwell was discovered Monday evening in his chambers in an apparent suicideDaily Mail

A judge has been found dead from a gunshot wound to the head in his chambers at a courthouse in Texas.

The body of Tom Greenwell, 57, was discovered by cleaners at 7pm last night – two hours after the court closed – on the eighth storey of the Nueces County Courthouse, in Corpus Christi, south Texas.

Police initially raced to the scene believing they were hunting for an active shooter, but were seen soon after calmly leaving the courthouse and are now believed to be treating the death as a suicide.

Judges who have concealed handgun licenses are allowed to bring registered firearms with them to the courthouse.

Lawyers, judges, and some journalists who have special identification badges typically aren’t required to pass through the security checkpoint which includes metal detectors and guards.

Greenwell took over the 319th district court in 2001, and became the first Republican in Nueces County to win a county-wide office.

He was reelected in 2006 and ran unopposed in 2010. He was serving his third term.

In November, he lost a bid for the 13th Court of Appeals Judge for Place 2 to attorney Nora Longoria, a Democrat.

  1. SUICIDE??!!!!!!

    HAHAHahahahahahahahaha,…..

RIGHT!,.. SURE!,……. Mercy,… they really are funny!

Now,… let’s ask some legitmate questions:

    1) Why did the Fed Gov’t assassinate a sitting Judge?

    2) How is it that NO ONE heard the blast of a gun (a pistol no less) going off?

    3) What cases was he working on that he had indicated he would not,.. “go along with the program”??

    4) Was the gun even his?

    5) Why would a fairly new judge feel so depressed about life, that he would feel the need to end it,… in his office? (Ans: He wouldn’t,.. didn’t)

Another death by US Fed Gov’t,…Errrr,… I mean,… “suicide”.

JD – US Marines – This criminal gov’t grows more pyschotic, murderous and desperate each day now.

    1. Notice too JD that the article doesn`t even say if there was a weapon anywhere in the room they found that judge. They usually do I think don`t they, like they would say that there was a .38 lying near the body, type thing ya know. Yep JD, seems like a lot more to this story too to be sure.

  2. And if you believe this ridiculous story, then I have a two golden gate bridges next to my home that I want to sell you.

  3. “Police initially raced to the scene believing they were hunting for an active shooter, but were seen soon after calmly leaving the courthouse and are now believed to be treating the death as a suicide.”

The wording says it all. OMG! There’s a shooting! Oh phew..it was only a suicide. It’s all over. Let’s go home now. Cue ending credits to a police show.

    What a joke.

Being the fact that it was Corpus Christi, I’m guessing Mexican cartels.

  4. Other questions;
    1, where was the wound?
2, was it in fact a self inflected wound?
3, was it in fact his gun?
4, was the bullet from the same gun found?
5, were there signs of a struggle?
6, was there any signs of bruising on eather arm?
and last but not least who did he tell to go pound sand, that he wouldn’t do what they wanted?

  5. some very good questions asked on here by JD and Redhorse.
Most of these I was waiting for and when the story ended I felt like I had just read the headling on loop about 5 times. No REAL facts.
They say that judges can have a gun but not that he did. No recent rulings or future ones for that matter. Never said why the police felt it may be an active shooter or even if a shot was reported by anyone.
Cops ran for no reason. They arrived to find a dead judge. Said must be a suicide. Walked out discussing where to get the best gelato.
Did they recover a firearm? Did they mop up blood? Did they get to deploy yellow tape? Was the underage Filipino boy under the desk see anything?

    1. ‘Was the underage Filipino boy under the desk see anything?’

Apparently you know your Masonic judges. Very funny!

  6. “……….now believed to be treating the death as a suicide.”

As they were no doubt ordered to do.

Just another banana in the tailpipe.
