Martial law: Obama confiscates National Guard helicopters from all 50 states

Obama administration is confiscating all of the Apaches...Examiner – by Dave Gibson

As if the Obama administration’s purchase of more than 2 billion rounds of ammunition, and nearly 3,000 urban tanks, along with their unprecedented (and highly illegal) domestic spying program was not enough to convince you that the federal government is about to suspend the Constitution once and for all, the man who once vowed to run “the most transparent administration in history” has just rather inexplicably, ordered the U.S. Army to seize every Apache attack helicopter currently in use by the National Guard.

In all, the Defense Department will confiscate 192 Apaches from National Guard units around the country and give them to the active duty Army.

In exchange for the heavily armed and highly maneuverable choppers, Guard units will receive 111 UH-60 Blackhawk transport helicopters from the Army,Defense One reports.

Last week, U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee, claiming that the measure will save taxpayers $12 billion, over the next three years.

Of course, when one considers that this ‘cost saving’ move comes from an administration which regularly runs trillion-dollar deficits and, to date, has proposed no less than 442 tax increases since taking office in January 2009, the idea of saving money for the American taxpayer is a bit hard to swallow.

So, what could be another, more reasonable explanation?

The Apache, which began service in 1986, is armed with a 30 mm M230E1 Chain Gun (with 1,200 rounds), Hellfire anti-tank missiles, and 70 general-purpose 70 mm rockets. In short, it is capable of fending-off any enemy, foreign or domestic.

Obviously, these helicopters could pose a substantial obstacle to say, a tyrant drunk on his own power, with an army at his disposal.

With the recent, attempted seizure of the Bundy family ranch in Nevada by more than 200 armed federal officers, including many snipers, we know that the Obama administration is not afraid to use force against the American people.

Furthermore, considering the unprovoked attacks and murders of U.S. citizens on their own property by federal agents, such as the Ruby Ridge and Waco massacres, we also know that the federal government has no problem suspending due process and using lethal force on its own citizens. Couple that with the as yet, unexplained, massive arms buildup by the Department of Homeland Security, and the National Defense Authorization Act which allows the feds to arrest and detain any U.S. citizen indefinitely without charges, and even the most establishment-minded American should be able to see what is coming.

There are a few governors around the country who would not stand for martial-law being arbitrarily declared by this or any president, but without any teeth (i.e. Apache attack helicopters) what could they use to stop Obama’s tyranny?

  1. Since when do they care about saving money? They are purposely imploding the economy, so I doubt that’s the real reason.
    Its either..

    1) They want to transfer them to Ukraine
    or
    2) They want them for domestic use under Federal control

    1. You should have had a third multiple choice:

      3) All of the above

Considering that the National Guard and the Reserves are sent on tours of duty to the Middle East, then the Fed would also be able to usurp all military equipment from the State’s National Guard units as well.

If States really want their own State Guard, then they should fund it and also think about seceding from the USA. However, this won’t happen while a State is depending on Federal Tax funds to balance their budgets.

      1. @Inretrospect here is the thing it aggravates me every time I here that, 1st the Fed doesn’t fund anything period the Fed is 100% tax payer funded ,they are the ones being funded not the States. We hand our money into the State we reside in and they send money to the Fed, the Fed then lines their coffers and send whats left back out to the States period. Sorry I am by no means ranting on you, that is just a sore subject with me.

        1. Foehammer – When I look at my pay stub, it shows Federal tax and State tax paid. When I pay my taxes at the end of the year, I file a State and Federal Tax return forms. When we look at Federal and State Welfare, they also come from two funds: the State and the Fed. Interstate highways are federally funded, and that money is usually derived from the gasoline tax on each gallon purchased. After a natural catastrophy such as an earthquake, tornado, or flood, the State declares an emergency, and FEMA steps-in to provide Federal loans, shelter, food, and water – which also comes from State and Federal Tax Funds.

So, putting aside the issue of Federal Funding; does the State Tax fund, Federal Tax fund, or both fund the Army National Guard and the Reserves?

“In 1933, with passage of the National Guard Mobilization Act, Congress finalized the split between the National Guard and the traditional state militias by mandating that all federally funded soldiers take a dual enlistment/commission and thus enter both the state National Guard and the National Guard of the United States, a newly created federal reserve force.”

    2. They do not want the states to be capable to reasonably resist the creeping tyranny of the Fed Gov.

Obviously, these helicopters could pose a substantial obstacle to say, a tyrant drunk on his own power, with an army at his disposal.

“the most transparent administration in history”
      Very “transparent” indeed.

  2. Think about this aspect. The Black hawk is mainly a transport helicopter. The Apache is a combat chopper. If they remove all fighting aircraft from the guard the state has less in which to fight the fed with. They are slowly removing the fighting capacity of the guard “just in case”.

One thing that I know about helicopter pilots though: even in combat when they have been “on station” for their allotted time, they go back to base. They don’t like to stay up passed their bedtime.

  3. Some people won’t believe the government is evil until the bullet explodes out the backside of their skull. Then they’ll have their last earthly epiphany.

  4. Obama had always wanted to see the United States take on the same look as Beirut did in the sixties. The way Obama thinks of America is, we haven’t had our turn yet, just like, Bin Laden, and the Muslim Brotherhood thinks should happen to America. They would love to see an America that resembles their home land, all torn up, Buildings knocked down, different sects. firing at each other, and the smell of death everywhere, that way, they would feel right at home.

    1. “… just like, Bin Laden, and the Muslim Brotherhood thinks should happen to America.”

You can’t be serious. Bin Had & the Muslim Brotherhood LOVED/LOVE the U.S., or at least they loved/love American money, since that’s what funded/funds them.
