First Miami, now Houston: Military conducting helicopter raids with blank rounds in populated areas. Calling it a drill
The sight of Army helicopters and the sound of gunfire created a lot of concern Monday afternoon in one Houston neighborhood. We received a lot of phones calls, Tweets and Facebook posts from worried neighbors, wondering what was going on.
With military helicopters flying above her southeast Houston neighborhood, Frances Jerrals didn’t know what to think.
“When you see this, you think the worst. When you hear this, you think the worst,” Jerrals said.
And so, she passed along her concern.
“She told me ‘don’t come home it sounds like we’re in a war zone. Guns, shooting, helicopters flying around the house,'” Isaac Robertson Jr. said.
The U.S. Army along with other agencies took over the old Carnegie Vanguard High School near Scott and Airport. There were armed men in fatigues, plenty of weapons and what many thought were real live rounds
“I felt like I was in a warzone.” Jerrals said. “It was nonstop. I was terrified.”
Turns out, it was a multi-agency training drill that Jerrals wished would have come with warning.
“They could have done a better job in notifying the neighborhood,” Jerrals said.
The Army did not give any details of what the training is for. Some people we spoke to needed no explanation.
“If it’s to protect our kids, I’m all for it,” neighbor Glenn DeWitt said
What would the US Army thought or done if someone thought this was a real military assault on the public and opened up on those helicopters and started shooting at them boys on the ground with some real live firepower, it would not be hard to start blowing heads off thinking that this was a real takeover….. This seems like this drill was just some more of conditioning the public for the inevitable of martial law and govt. takeover.
I think you got half the answer digs. I think we’ll be seeing more of these “drills” until someone does open up on them.
It will be their fault if it happens. Especially with no warning to the citizens.

I don’t advocate violence, but these effers are playing a dangerous game….and with NO kind of retaliation, violent or non-violent, they have the upper hand now that they know noone(at least THERE) will retaliate.
I’m not gonna tolerate a no-warning infiltration of my community by these assholes, mock drill or not, if there is no warning given. I will use every means I have available to me to retaliate as fiercely as I can…since there was no-warning to the citizens. I may come up on the short end of the fight, but dammit, they are NOT gonna take it all, and try to make us submit to this BS, without a fight from me. My children and family deserve at LEAST that much from me. Maybe some others don’t think so…but that is my driving force, and my line. Period.

Man, that’s exactly what I thought. I live a couple blocks from a major freeway. I’m quite sure the first thing I’d have done is run out front to meet up with my neighbors. If they were still flying around shooting in about three minutes, it might not be good. Flying over our city firing weapons? WTF do you expect?
Now that I think about it, maybe that’s what they do expect…
I didn’t hear anything about this in Texas. Not that they would advertise this but this is just another part of getting the people accustomed to the military. Once again, if they are training in public, then what’s a base used for these days???

And the fact that U.S. troops are going along with this and doing it. Something tells me those aren’t even U.S. troops but are foreign troops in U.S. soldiers clothing mixed in with one or two U.S. troops to five them psychological pressure to make sure they go along with it.

The same rule applies here. The thief is not going to say,
“Hey everyone, this is a drill. I’m going to pretend to rob a house in your neighborhood to see your reaction in order to better prepare myself against you in the future.”

They were probably looking for some big guns to fire at them, so they could take out the owners, and delete the threat.
