Missouri House Passes ‘Emergency’ Bill to Nullify Federal Gun Laws

Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)-  On April 3rd 2013 the Missouri House passed an “emergency” bill to nullify “virtually every federal gun control measure in the books.”

The bill – HB1439 – drew a supermajority of support, 110-36.

According to the Tenth Amendment Center, the bill borrows language from Thomas Jefferson to reject “unlimited submission” to the federal government.

Claiming Tenth Amendment ground, the bill states, “Whenever the federal government assumes powers that the people did not grant it in the Constitution, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force.”

HB1439 lists specific federal laws and actions for nullification, including but not limited to “any registering or tracking of the owners of firearms, firearms accessories, or ammunition which might reasonably be expected to create a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership of those items by law-abiding citizens” and “any act ordering the confiscation of firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition from law-abiding citizens.”

The bill “now moves to the state senate where a committee is likely to hear it in the coming week.”

  1. (Yawn!) Yea, yea, nullify, nullify. I’ve heard this bill before. It’s all bullshit on paper. The point is will they ENFORCE it or just stand around and do nothing when the time comes???

    1. yeah, NC… it looks like another one of those actions designed to convince people that there are opposing forces in our government, and all they have to do is sit back and wait for the dust to settle.

It’s NOT the case. NC is right. This is just another scene in the big show.

  2. Good job Missouri! Now repeal all laws that the feds have passed limiting certain types of weapons. Let everyone open carry and concealed carry without fear of the cops and hang the first federal agent that attempts to harass the people living in Missouri!

  3. Now I have nothing bad to say about this author at this point in time, because this article is just a statement of fact, but there is something that will cause me to keep an eye on him in the future:

I was once offered the “opportunity” to have my articles published by Salon.com, and other “big Sites” if I would be willing to “TONE DOWN MY MESSAGE”. Naturally I refused, but I think that many aspiring writers might be willing to sacrifice the truth in exchange for their “fifteen minutes of fame”, or what they see as getting their foot in the door to the career of their dreams.

Again, I don’t know if that’s the case with this particular author, and I don’t want to say anything to insult or discredit him based on the very little knowledge I have of him now, but please be aware that there are a lot of people who write for the “alternative media” because they see it as a stepping stone to a new career rather than a cause that we’re all fighting for, and this is only one example of how someone who may have began with good intentions can be unwittingly used by our enemies.

If a writer can be told what to say, he’s not a writer. He’s someone’s secretary.

I’d say he’s a tool, and nothing less
