Suspected Cop Shooter Eric Frein on FBI’s Most Wanted List With $100,000 Reward

ABC News – by Rheana Murray

The FBI added suspected cop shooter Eric Frein to its 10 Most Wanted fugitive list today and announced a reward of $100,000 for information leading to his capture. That is in addition to an existing $75,000 reward from Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers.

The FBI’s action came on the day that Pennsylvania State Trooper, Cpl. Bryon Dickson, was buried in an emotional ceremony.

The search for Frein, 31, entered its sixth day after two Pennsylvania state troopers were ambushed late Friday at the barracks in Blooming Grove Township. Schools in the area are closed for the second day as the dragnet continues for Frein, a survivalist and gun expert who often worked on films about war and the military.

The FBI said at a news conference today it is assisting in the search with “manpower, technical and air assets” and that Frein’s photo will be “broadcast on electronic billboards up and down the whole East Coast.”

“We have now made the world where he can hide a very small place,” said Edward Hanko, FBI special agent in charge of the Philadelphia division.

Police said they have new information suggesting Frein remains in the general area.

“I do believe he’s probably desperate. It’s been cold out at night, he’s trying to survive out there,” Lt. Col. George Bivens said, adding that surviving outside is one of Frein’s hobbies.

“It’s been his interest to go out into the woods and stay for days with very little in the way of equipment or supplies. He’s done that in the past,” Bivens said.

Hundreds of officers are involved in the hunt for Frein, including many who are trained in woodland searches. Police say they are also utilizing grids and technology to clear certain areas.

New images of Frein show the suspected killer at rifle practice in high school and stone-faced in his yearbook photo.

The funeral was held today for Dickson, who died in Friday’s gunfire. Hundreds gathered at the St. Peter’s Cathedral in Scranton to honor Dickson, a 38-year-old married father of two children.

A second trooper, Alex Douglass, was wounded in the attack.

Police said on Wednesday Frein is also part of a “military simulation unit” obsessed with re-enacting Eastern Europe during the Cold War. He was described as a skilled shooter and is believed to be armed and extremely dangerous.

Frein’s father, a retired U.S. Army Major, told police he taught his son how to shoot and that he “doesn’t miss.” The father also told police during a search of the family’s home that two guns were missing — a .308 rifle with a scope and an AK-47, according to court documents.

Frein has a grudge against law enforcement and appeared to be specifically targeting cops, police said.

  1. You can take your $100,000 and shove it up your vent hole. If I knew where this guy was I’d make sure he had plenty to eat, and everything else he needed.

Don’t expect any help from the public. Everyone is happy to hear about a dead pig, and by killing one of them, Mr. Frein has done more to “protect and serve” the American people than any cop has in many years.

    1. He’s in the woods. God help him. He is a skilled weapons expert and survivalist, and he “doesn’t miss” Also the guys has been an extra in military films and has helped with the accuracy of the historic battles.

This is going to be very interesting to say the least..

  2. We the people have had the police turn on the people for sooo long now an what do the law system want ..East cost has big problems with this beating up on traffice stops..Seen it an we hear bout it..

  3. The guy is a murderer, plain and simple. He attacked and killed and was not doing it in self defense………….that’s murder.

Some people really need their heads examined………………..

    1. Yes I agree, I can recommend to you a good psychoanalyst.

His name is Rabbi Biltstien AKA Rubin Bagel Dog Blitzer…

    2. douseeyet –> Perhaps you can utilize your righteous fervor and revise your comment to INCLUDE the “cops” of our Nation, whom carry a badge to indiscriminately kill anyone they choose; cops who kick-in the doors of the wrong house and shoot the family pet or innocent family members; or cops who taser kids and/or people in wheelchairs to death; or cops that punch-out unarmed pregnant women. They are State-armed murderers, plain and simple. They attack and kill and they are not doing it in self defense………….that’s murder.

It’s a double-edged sword and, people need to protect and serve justice too… ESPECIALLY WHEN THE COPS DON’T !!!!!!!!!

I hope this comment helps to explain the matter better…………….PUTZ

    3. Sounds just like the police, only they do it daily. So, according to you, the police are mega-murderers. Or because they’re paid by taxpayers, are above the law, and wear uniforms…it’s not murder (?) if they do the same thing?

  4. “Frein has a grudge against law enforcement and appeared to be specifically targeting cops, police said.”

What grudge? Has anyone stated what his grudge is about? What were his previous dealings with law enforcement? What did they do to him to trip his trigger?
One must assume that he has had previous dealings with law enforcement in order for him to develop a grudge.
This is not a random event.

  5. Wow! Are they going to make this no name guy out to be the next Osama Bin Laden for the next 10-12 years? Is he the boogeyman symbol for the “domestic terrorists” now? (Gotta have an enemy) Will he have a compound for the insurgents to raid and the media to falsely report on?

So he’s in the woods? Did the elite get the script from Rambo? 🙄

This is absolutely ridiculous. The elite are getting so old in their tactics, it’s not even funny anymore. Time for them to pack up and go home. Game over. They’ve lost. Otherwise, they can find themselves six feet under after being hung on a Christmas tree as an early Christmas gift for We the People.

  6. if this guy is skilled in cold war re-enactment for the eastern front,
then it’s not the woods he’s skilled in.
    it’s small-town urban combat!!!
he will be a master at moving house-2-house and spotting snipers or potential sniping locations.

this will get interesting for sure!
